Website traffic surges post iPhone launch

Apple seems to have delivered BIG, BIG, BIG numbers as analyst reports suggest that iPhone sales hit half a million in the opening weekend sales. Apple and AT&T were not the only ones pleased with the success of the iPhone. It has brought a smile to my face as well and I am sure same would be case for other fellow bloggers (iPhone related) as I have seen a substantial jump in traffic to my iPhone Hacks blog.

More details after the jump.

I guess in my case it might have also helped being on the number one spot at Google, Yahoo and MSN for "iPhone hacks" search term. Fellow bloggers it would be great to know if you have seen similar traffic surge since the iPhone launch in the comments below.

Update: 2nd July traffic further increased to at 6,329 page views in line with expectation as weekend traffic is usually lesser than that observed on weekdays.

There have already been some blog reports of iPhone firmware hitting the internet so we are probably not too far away from seeing iPhone hacks popping up. Based on reports from Engadget, it looks like the iPhone’s system restore image has already shown up online; it might be a while before anyone can de-construct this thing into meaningful though so far everything looks well encrypted so far.
