Instructions to Re-Virginize iPhone OS v1.0.2 shows up but Not an Official iPhone Dev Team Release

iPhone Unlocked

When the iPhone Dev Team released their latest version of anySIM, the free GUI based SIM unlock tool for iPhone OS v1.1.1, it was only limited to virgin iPhones i.e. all those who had bought their new iPhones recently with OS v1.1.1 running on it or iPhones that were upgraded from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 but had NEVER unlocked their iPhone.

However, they for folks who had unlocked their iPhone running on OS v1.0.2 the iPhone Dev Team had promised a “re-virginizer” tool which will essentially be an application to revert your iPhone back to factory settings i.e. locked state after which I guess you should be able upgrade to iPhone OS v1.1.1 and then use anySIM v1.1 to unlock the iPhone.

Peter, one of the regular readers here @ iPhone Hacks had sent in a tip indicating that someone at Hackint0sh came up with a way to "virginize" the unlocked iPhone.

Inspite of the detailed documentation available it still doesn't seem to ready for public use and is also not an official iPhone Dev Team release so as of now it is advicable to wait for the iPhone Dev Team to release the tool.

But what the news does tell us is that the "Re-Virginizer" tool should be coming out soon. Here is the link to the discussion thread over @ Hackint0sh in case you are interested.

Thanks Peter for the tip!

Stay tuned @ iPhone Hacks for further updates on this topic.
