10base-t Interactive brings Mobile DropCopy to iPhone

One of the popular Mac OS X Utilities, DropCopy, which is designed to simplify the task of copying files between Macs, is now available for the iPhone as well as iPod Touch.

Folks at 10base-t Interactive have now extended the functionality of DropCopy with Mobile DropCopy for iPhone and iPod Touch to support iPhone-to-iPhone, iPhone-to-Mac, and Mac-to-iPhone file transfers.

Mobile DropCopy for iPhone and iPod Touch is currently in Beta, and should make copying files from and to your iPhone easy.

Mac OS X’s Bonjour technology makes it relatively easy to connect two local Macs together for the purposes of sharing files, however you still have to set up Personal File Sharing and then manually connect from one Mac to the other, and provide our login details when prompted.

This can be painful if you are trying get a few photos from my desktop Mac to my PowerBook. DropCopy is looking to address this, it simplifies the process by letting you quickly send files directly to other computers—or to particular users on those computers.

Folks at 10base-t Interactive have now extended the functionality of DropCopy with Mobile DropCopy for iPhone and iPod Touch to support iPhone-to-iPhone, iPhone-to-Mac, and Mac-to-iPhone file transfers.

This is what they have to say about Mobile DropCopy:

"10base-t interactive was founded on the idea that certain computing tasks should be dead simple and just work - like transferring your files from one machine to another as quickly and easily as possible.

Now, with Mobile Dropcopy, that premise is a reality on your iPhone and iPod Touch as well."

However, DropCopy is currently only available for Mac. You can download a copy of the DropCopy by using this download link.
