Software-based JailBreak method for iPhone Firmware v1.1.3 to be Released soon

iPhone Atlas is reporting that they have got news that the software-based jailbreak method for iPhone firmware v1.1.3 which I have reported about only a couple of days back could be released as early as tonight or tomorrow.

So looks like the iPhone hacking community who were deliberating whether or not to release the method before Apple’s official SDK is announced (expected sometime in February) have decided to release it soon.

However, the iPhone hacking geniuses don't want to reveal all their secrets, apparently they have not just one but two methods to jailbreak the iPhone firmware v1.1.3 and they are planning to only release one of the methods for now while we can expect the other jailbreak method to be released after the official SDK is announced.

To find out all the details that are currently available about the software-based jailbreak method, check Apple iPhone Firmware v1.1.3 JailBreaking Update.

The Jailbreak worked on my iPhone and my girlfriend's iPod Touch perfectly. I had one problem though, on my iPhone, after installing the softupgrade package, installer kinda acted funny. Even though all my third party apps were still available, they were kinda inactive. I had to uninstall all of them and install them back.
Note: Problems with Dock and OpenSSH packages. This jailbreak cleans up the files required for these packages. So, when you try to uninstall, you get the "Main script execution failed" error. To solve this, install the Term-vt100 package, and edit the PackageList.plist file under /var/root/Library/Installer/ and comment out the entries for Dock and OpenSSH. Its a little painful but it worked great. I reinstalled these two – my all time favorites – and everything is working fine on my jailbroken 1.1.3 iPhone!!!

I take it a 1.1.2 roll back is needed if 1.1.3 has already been installed? I thought this wasn't possible? Am i wrong?

I can confirm that this works. I did have to restore my iphone to a fresh jailbroken 1.1.1 for the softupgrade to show up in my installer. But it works 100%

I have an OTB 1.1.2, stupidly, upgraded to the 1.1.3, do i need to rollback to the original 1.1.2? Cos i was under the impression that this couldn't be done?
