Another Simple method to Add Custom Ringtones to your iPhone for Free
Folks at TeenBuzz have figured out a clever way to add custom ringtones to your iPhone, it doesn't require you to use any iPhone App nor does it need you to do any hacking.
The idea behind their method is to subscribe to a podcast that delivers ringtones to iTunes and allows you to sync them directly to your iPhone.
As a proof of concept of how the method works, here are the steps you need to follow:
- Click on this link.
- This in turn should open iTunes (assuming you have iTunes installed) and start downloading the video demo and along with that you should also get a list of all the different ringtones available (do remember to expand the list by clicking on TeenBuzz ringtones for iPhone podcast).
- You then need to simply click the "Get" button in iTunes next to the ringtones you want to install on your iPhone.
- When you connect your iPhone to your computer next, the ringtones should get synced to your iPhone and should be available under Settings -> Sounds -> Ringtone on your iPhone to choose from to set as your default ringtone.
Thats all, wasn't that simple. In case you want to remove the ringtones from you iPhone simply delete the ringtones from the podcast.
If the ringtones of teen/mosquito high-frequency buzz do not interest you then you can checkout Nakko as they claim that they have been using this method for quite sometime and supposedly have tons of free ringtones for the iPhone.
Thanks TeenBuzz, this method of adding custom ringtones rocks!

There's also a few free iPhone ringtone sites starting to appear like the one at http://ringtoneyouriphone.blogspot.com/ The tones are done in Garageband I think and are completely commercial-free to use. Subcribing to a podcast to get them is a neat idea, though--never thought of that! Thanks iPhone Hacks--love the site.
