The blogosphere has been reporting that iPhone 3G is still hard to find and that lines continue to form outside many stores. It also appears that Apple's latest offering is already sold out in 21 states.

The states reporting that the iPhone 3G are sold out were Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin.

So if you have read the iPhone 3G reviews and are planning to buy Apple's iPhone 3G, then the smart thing to do would be to check Apple's retail availability site after 9:00 p.m. the night before you plan to visit an Apple Retail Store.

You can check availability of the iPhone 3G models (colors/sizes) available at the Apple retail stores near you by choosing your state. If you see the status as green then head for the store as early as possible as Apple recommends that you should arrive early since iPhone 3G is sold on a first come, first served basis.
