Apple has released iTunes 7.7 for Mac and Windows users and should be available in Software Updates. As you might already know, you will need this version of iTunes for the new iPhone firmware 2.0 version and iPhone 3G (which will be rolled out in most parts of the world tomorrow and is already available in New Zealand thanks to the timezone).

This is the description from iTunes 7.7 download screen:
"Use iTunes 7.7 to sync music, video, and more with iPhone 3G, and download applications from the iTunes Store exclusively designed for iPhone and iPod touch with software version 2.0 or later. Also use the new Remote application for iPhone or iPod touch to control iTunes playback from anywhere in your home - a free download from the App Store."
Not much has changed from the developer-only version of iTunes 7.7 that was released couple of weeks back.
The much-anticipated iPhone App store for iPhone and iPod Touch is also live via iTunes which I will provide more details shortly.
The other interesting part is the new iPhone Remote app for iTunes which is being reported to work very well. It gives you full control of all the music, video, podcasts, and movies stored in your computer or Apple TV. I will provide you folks with more details on the app as a separate post dedicated to it.

So it lets you access it from anywhere? or is it just a remote control, I can change the music playing on my computer in the other room?
So far, the new iTunes update (7.7) is for Mac OSX only. No PC updates yet…

updated on vista. Works about 10 seconds then crashes.
I newly downloaded 7.7 version from apple website worked on windows. cheers.
