One of the most popular native iPhone apps for the jailbroken iPhone running firmware 1.x was Snapture which we had reviewed back in April.
Snapture brought professional features such as Digital zoom, delay timer etc to iPhone’s very basic camera app.
Bowei Gai, founder of the Snapture had sent us an email to let us know that they had recently released an updated version of Snapture. The latest version seems to be even better and works with iPhone firmware 2.x.
Native iPhone applications like Cycorder, Flixwagon and Qik have added some cool functionality to iPhone’s basic camera app.
However, one of TUAW’s readers, Daniel Forsythe wanted to use iPhone’s camera to read bar codes that he shoots from magazines and equipment labels which was not possible with iPhone’s camera so he has hacked his iPhone to focus a bit closer up.
Apple’s iPhone television ad that says "all the parts of the internet are on the phone" was banned by UK’s Advertising watchdog as they got complaints from some customers claiming that it gave a misleading impression of the internet capabilities of the iPhone.
It appears that Apple has changed the wordings of their iPhone 3G ads in UK to say "really fast" instead of "twice as fast" to avoid running into trouble again with U.K.’s Advertising Standards Authority.

Jay Freeman (aka Saurik), the developer of Cydia, the installer app for native iPhone applications has released a free native video recording application for the iPhone called Cycorder.
The free native iPhone app appears to be much better video recording app than iPhone Video Recorder which costs $19.95.
Forecasters say Hurricane Gustav has become a
very dangerous storm with winds increasing to 195 kilometers an hour making it a Category 3 storm and could grow even more powerful before striking
