If you are not satisfied with the dull Apple logo on your iPhone's rear-shell then this mod by a bunch of Russian modders where they have replaced the chrome logo with a glowing one is probably the solution you might be looking for.
You can check out the details including the video clip of the modded iPhone after the jump.
Folks at GPDA.ru have been credited for this mod which apparently involves removing the chrome logo and replacing it with a glowing one similar to the one you get on Macbook Pro. As you can see in the video clip below it looks quite cool.
They claim that battery also doesn't suffer a lot and that you have the option to adjust the glow level in the Settings menu in case you find the glow is too bright.
The editor of iPhones.ru has confirmed that the mods are indeed real and has published a video clip of a modded iPhone as seen below.
However, there are no instructions available yet on how to try this mod on your iPhone. It also appears to have been done on the first generation iPhone so not sure it is possible with an iPhone 3G.
If you happen to get some instructions and try it out, don't forget to let us know how it goes.

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but this is BIG TIME FAKE. THey used state of the art video editing from a glowing logo in a macbook laptop and combined with the iphone non-glowing logo.. sorry guys…
This may be wrong since Im not familiar with the inner workings of the iphone, but if you were to take off the silver apple and just put a clear piece of anything there the light from the screen would illuminate the apple and wouldnt use any more battery power than it already does. To adjust the brightness, you just adjust the brightness of the iphone screen.
Hehehe, yeah "LOOK AT ME!!! I HAVE AN IPHONE!!!! STEAL IT!!!" not such a good idea, should call it the iphone burgler beacon!
Fuck too bad I already installed my bodyguardz…it was a pain in the ass to install properly and im not going to do it again.
In all honesty, even though this may be fake, it would be a good solution to the lack of a flash for the camera.
So they faked the shadows on her fingers, hair, and face, and the shadows crossing between and over her fingers, and her fingers reflecting on the shell, and the light "streak" against the camera? And somehow, that's easier to do and more plausible than sticking an LED in the phone? The "fake" comment is an unbelievably stupid troll.
I do not know is it real or fake but I think if it can be done, I could apply the sticker from iapplelogo.com to make it colorful!
Hopefully the tutorial on making it will be out soon.
