"I am Rich" iPhone app: More Details Revealed including Video walk through

When we had reported that the ridiculous "I am Rich" app was removed from the App Store there were a few questions that were left unanswered.

We have got more details about the controversial iPhone app including a video walk through of it which you should not miss (its quite funny).

When the $999.99 "I am Rich" application was removed from the App Store we weren't sure if it was removed by Armin Heinrich who developed the iPhone app (if that constitutes development) or Apple after they received customer complaints.

Los Angeles Times who got in touch with Heinrich has confirmed that Apple had removed the application . Heinrich said in an e-mail:

"I have no idea why they did it and am not aware of any violation of the rules to sell software on the App Store"

It appears that before Apple could remove the app from the App Store, eight iPhone users purchased it. Six of them were from the United States, one from Germany and one from France. Heinrich said.

"That's $5,600 in revenue for Heinrich and $2,400 for Apple, which collects 30% of each sale for store upkeep."

"I've got e-mails from customers telling me that they really love the app," adding that they had "no trouble spending the money"

Heinrich also told Los Angeles Times that Apple had refunded the iPhone user who had posted a review on the app store who had complained he had accidentally purchased it and also another user who had bought the app.

"I don't want to collect money from people who did this by accident and I am glad that Apple returned the money for two orders,"

iPhone Savior has also reported that Debbie Norom, who claims to have purchased the $999.99 "I Am Rich" iPhone app, is angry that after several websites called the eight individuals who bought Heinrich's iPhone application, 'idiots', thankfully we just mentioned that the iPhone app was "ridiculous".

"That doesn't make me a moron. I happen to like expensive trendy stuff. I'm not an idiot! 'I Am Rich' is pretty cool especially now since it's gone. That makes my app a valuable collectors item worth more than $1,000 dollars if I sold it on Ebay. Can I do that?"

We have also found the video walk through of the "I am Rich" app, its quite funny (remember all that the iPhone app does is display a photo of a red gem on the iPhone).

Installerapps.com reports that the clone of the controversial iPhone app is now available via Cydia as a jailbroken iPhone app.

What do you think?
