Tap Tap Revenge: Guitar Hero Style Rhythm Game for iPhone [iPhone Apps Review]

Tapulous's Tap Tap Revenge game is Guitar Hero or Dance Dance Revolution style rhythm game for the iPhone available via the App Store.

You might have already played this iPhone game as it was available as Tap Tap Revolution, an unofficial native iPhone game for jailbroken iPhones.

You can checkout the review of Tap Tap Revenge, the official iPhone game after the jump.

iPhone application developer, Tapulous bought the game from Nate True, who had developed the Tap Tap Revolution game for the jailbroken iPhones, to relaunch it as Tap Tap Revenge with some enhancements.

You can download the game for free from the App Store. The objective of the game is to tap on the beats which come down as bubbles from three colored beams at the bottom of the screen. The more bubbles you tap in time, the higher is your score.

You also get points for shaking the iPhone to the left, right or down in time as the arrows fall down the three colored beams. You have four difficulty levels to choose from if you think its getting too easy.

The iPhone game also has a two-player mode so you can play with your friend at either end of the iPhone.

Tap Tap Revenge initially came with 4 songs, but has added a few more downloadable tracks since its release. Unfortunately, the game cannot use the tracks available on your iPhone's iPod application.

The iPhone game is quite addictive and I am not surprised that it is very popular with iPhone and iPod Touch users. It has recently crossed the one million mark (only the second iPhone application to cross the magic number after Facebook's iPhone app).

Tapulous is currently celebrating the milestone by giving away thousand albums. Winners can choose any music from Lala's collection of more than 5 million songs. To win, all you have to do is register (which is free) for a Tapulous Profile with a valid email address by end of the day (3rd August, 2008) as they will be announcing the winners tomorrow.

You can download Tapulous's Tap Tap Revenge using this iTunes link.

As seen in the YouTube video below, the iPhone game seems to be gaining popularity even with pigeons:

As always it will be great to know your feedback on Tap Tap Revenge in the comments.

The only thing that I don't like about this app is that you cant use your songs from your itunes library like you could in Tap Tape Revolution

  3. iPhone Gamer says:

Develops have been very inconsistent on using the music library in games. You'd think it'd be a key USP for the device, really.
