The iPhone Dev Team had released the Pwnage Tool v2.1 and QuickPwn v1.1 to jailbreak and unlock the 1st Gen iPhone and jailbreak iPhone 3G running iPhone firmware 2.1 almost immediately after it was released by Apple last week. However, the tools were only for Mac users.
They have now released their QuickPwn v2.1 for Windows users that supports iPhone firmware 2.1.
The QuickPwn Tool is quite popular with iPhone users as it makes it quicker and easier to jailbreak iPhone as it does not need iTunes-based full restore.
The latest version of the QuickPwn v1.1 for Windows users can be used to jailbreak and unlock the 1st generation iPhone running firmware 2.1. It can also jailbreak iPhone 3G running iPhone firmware 2.1.
It cannot unlock iPhone 3G as of now nor can it jailbreak the 2nd generation iPod Touch that was released by Steve Jobs at Apple's Special event last week.

Here is a step-by-step guide provided by Srini, one of our regular readers on how to use the tool:
1. Upgrade to iTunes 8.0.
2. Sync your iPhone with iTunes. Backup your data.
3. Download the 2.1 ipsw from this link.
4. From iTunes 8.0, hold shift and hit restore.
5. After iTunes restores your phone with 2.1 firmware and comes up for activation, Launch Quickpwn2.1-1.
6. Select the installed 2.1 ipsw in the relevant screen.
7. Select the bootloaders and hit next.
8. Follow the instructions on Quickpwn and voila!!

Same as previous poster, jailbreak worked fine. Wifi works, Installer works, Cyndia works, App store connects… the only thing that does not work is the phone doesn't seen to connect o AT&T's network. Unable to send/receive calls.

im having trouble launching the quickpwn, when i try to launch it is says "to run this application you must first install one of the following versions of the .NET Framework: v2.0.50727". i did what´s been said as to the steps to follow, restored with itunes 8.0 and i get the activation page on itunes with emergeny call only on the phone, if anyone could help me i would greatly appreciate it

I have used quickpwn to jailbreak and unlock my 2G iphone. I think it worked – iphone works with no sim in it, has cydia and installer apps. I'm using a t-mobile sim and picks up a signal.
However, iphone says a different sim is detected and as soon as I plug into itunes it says that the sim is unsupported…
i followed all of the instructions and all was going well until I went to launch quickpwn. I get an error message that says "to run this application, you first must install one of the following versions of the .Net framework". I have already restored my iphone using 2.1 ipsw what am i doing wrong??

You need to install .Net Framework runtimes and associated files for Quickpwn to work.

these two sentences from above seem to contradict eachother, at least to the newly-incarcerated:

and

I had a hell of a time getting Quickpwn to work in XP. Then i tryed updating my net framework to 3.5 sp1 and it worked
Jailbroke 2.1 1st time with no problems. White 3G phone developed cracks at mute toggle. Restored phone to virgin with itunes, resynced my stuff. Called Apple, they told me bring it in for exchange. Made Genius appointment, had new phone in less than 15 minutes. Went home, jailbroke again, but wifi failed during activation. Bricked my phone, or so I thought. While connected to iTunes, put phone in DFU and iTunes will see that the phone is in distress and do another restore. Finally completed 3rd jailbreak. It gets easier every time, and a lot less scary.

I have a problem after Jailbreak my Iphone. I can't make any call. the Dial iconl is freeze.
When i click on Dial icon to make the phone call, the page is freeze, i can't dial, can't check the contact list, and can't make a phone call. but i still can receive call from friends.

Guys? I've now tried Qwickpwd 6 times and it Does. Not. Work. It jailbreaks just fine but it's not unlocked. I've noticed other comments that said they had the same problem so please, either give some feedback on what we're doing wrong or remove the claim that Qwickpwd 2.1 unlocks the 1st gen iphone.

i try to jailbreak my 3g phone get to the second step of quickpwn when it ask the correct ipsw will have a name beginning with iPhone1,1_2.1_5F136_Restore.ipsw. Hi,
After "2. Sync your iPhone with iTunes", iTunes (8.0.1.11) shows "Welcome to Your New iPhone", and "FAQ", "Cancel" and "Continue" but not "restore" and so I don't know what I should do the next.
Also if I open QuickPwn21-1, it shows a message "This version of QuickPwn can only jailbreak devices with versions >= 2.0". What does this mean and what should I do to solve the problem?
