The tipster has also informed TUAW that the option to "get more episodes" did not work in the latest beta version of iPhone firmware 2.2.
Robert Palmer of TUAW speculates that this new feature which we could see in iPhone firmware 2.2 could have been the reason for Apple rejecting iPhone App Podcaster from the App Store.
Currently, the only way to sync podcasts to the iPhone is to sync them from iTunes. So we are sure that iPhone users who listen to podcasts will like the idea of downloading them directly to their iPhone without the need to sync them from iTunes. What do you think?
- Google’s Street View including walking and public transportation routes for directions
- Japanese Emoji Icons & Turn Off Auto-Correction
- Tweaks to App Store Application
- Tweaks to iPhone Safari’s user interface
Another feature that it is still missing from iPhone’s rich feature list is the Push Notification Service which was expected to be released in September. The Push Notification APIs is Apple’s solution for one of the features that
we have been asking for, ability for iPhone apps to run in the
background especially for applications like Instant Messenger, Facebook etc. However, Apple had strangely pulled out the Push Notification Service APIs in the 4th Beta version of iPhone Firmware 2.1 for "further development". We haven’t got any updates from Apple after it was pulled out.
