Robots are wonderful creatures, as many Japanese will tell you. So it wasn’t surprising to find out that a Japanese hacker has just turned the iPhone into a self-propelled robotic device.
The Japanese hacker has made the robotic iPhone using Arduino CPU board and development environment, coupled with a TA7291P motor. The entire setup is powered by 4xAA batteries.
It is controlled using a remote computer over Wi-Fi which gives instructions to a special iPhone app installed on the jailbroken iPhone.
You can checkout the demo video of the robotic iPhone in action:
The second part of the video titled "iPhone Onboard Camera" is a video taken using Cycorder, the video recording app running on the iPhone which you can notice in the first part of the video.
The Japanese hacker seems to be the same guy who had taken his iPhone and hacked it by wiring it up to a genuine physical keyboard.
Let us know what you think about the robotic iPhone.
