Few iPhone app developers have come together and are offering their iPhone apps at heavily discounted prices on the App Store to celebrate the coming new year.
The iPhone applications will be discounted for at least 48 hours from Dec 31st, 2008 to Jan 1st, 2009.

iPhone App developers seem to have had a great Christmas, as they are reporting three to four times jump in sales of their iPhone apps from the App Store on Christmas day.
The jump in sales is attributed to the high sales of iPod Touches as Amazon has listed the 8GB and 16GB iPod Touch as the best selling MP3 players rather than the iPhone due to the difficulties in gifting an iPhone compared to an iPod Touch.

As we had reported, Apple's iPhone 3G is now available at Walmart stores for $2 less than the regular price with a two-year contract: $197
for the 8 GB iPhone 3G model, or $297 for the 16 GB iPhone model.
Interestingly Walmart is not giving the best deal on the iPhone, Best Buy is currently selling the iPhone 3G for a $10 discount with a price tag of $189.99 for the 8 GB iPhone 3G model and $289.99 for the 16 GB iPhone model.

Walmart has finally announced that Apple's iPhone 3G will be available in their retail stores from Sunday, Dec 28. But there was no mention of the rumored $99 iPhone.
However, if you are looking for a $99 iPhone there is some good news, AT&T has started selling refurbished iPhone 3G's for $99, a $100 off its retail price.

Apple will start selling iPhone 3G at Walmart stores on Sunday, December 28th. Walmart has officially made the announcement confirming earlier reports.

MacRumors has revealed a new patent application filed by Apple at US Patent Office called Swipe Gestures for Touch Screen Keyboards.
The patent application is authored by Fingerworks founder, Wayne Westerman. The patent application reveals some interesting gesture based features that could make it to iPhone's virtual keyboard.
