iPhone with Quad-Core Processors Coming in June 2009?

Macworld 2009

Okay, I must admit the first part of the title is based on a rumor (speculation) which we had reported earlier today but the second part is based on Phil Schiller's, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing statement to David Pogue of New York Times at Macworld 2009.

When David Pogue of New York Times quizzed Phil Schiller who gave Apple's last Keynote address at Macworld 2009 about Apple's withdrawal from Macworld Expo repeated what was said in Apple's press release but he also mentioned something interesting.

Phil Schiller had given the Keynote address at Macworld 2009 in Steve Jobs absence.

He admitted that that one of the reasons for withdrawing from Macworld 2009 was because January does not fit into the Apple's natural product timelines. He noted that Apple follows the certain annual product cycles:

the holiday season (Novemberish), the educational buying season (late summer), the iPod product cycle (October), the iLife development cycle (usually March), the iPhone cycle (June).

So there you go, based on his comment it is safe to expect the 3rd generation iPhone in June 2009 and hopefully with quad-core processors and iPhone firmware 3.0.

How many of you are already waiting for the next generation iPhone? Let us know in the comments.
