Have you been in a situation where you want to send multiple photos from your iPhone?
If you use iPhone's camera regularly (like I have started doing even though its very basic) chances are that the answer to that question is "Yes". Unfortunately, you can email only one photo at a time from your iPhone.
iPhone apps SendPhotos & Multi-Photo Email solve this problem by allowing you to email multiple photos from your iPhone.
You can currently send only a single photo by selecting the photo from iPhone's camera and selecting "Email Photo" from the available options.
Both SendPhotos and Multi-Photo Email are trying to solve this limitation by allowing you to email multiple photos from your iPhone's camera roll. The user interface of both the apps though not very attractive is quite simple and intuitive to use.
You need to first setup your email service provider which will be used to send out the emails. Both the apps first upload the images to their servers and then email the photos using the SMTP server details that you have provided.
Both these apps are currently available for $0.99 on the App Store.
While these apps solve a problem by allow users to send multiple photos from their iPhone and kudos to the developers of these apps, I have some concerns with such iPhone apps like Multi-Photo Email.
- I was extremely hesitant to share the details of my email account.
- I also didn't feel comfortable with the idea of uploading photos to some third-party servers.
- The fact that these apps were developed by relatively unknown iPhone developers (at least from my point) did not help things. I don't mean any disrespect just highlighting a concern.
Nicolas from Code.Singularity, developers of SendPhotos has clarified in the comments regarding our concers:
SendPhotos is NOT uploading your images to any third-party server. Your images are directly sent from your iPhone to your SMTP server. We do not receive any kind of information about your photos, mail addresses, username, password or anything else. We respect your privacy.
So if you want to send multiple photos from your iPhone, I would recommend SendPhotos - in high resolution as it does not receive or record your personal information, you can download it using this link.
If you are not as paranoid as I am then you can download Multi-Photo using this link.
I personally prefer using Animoto's iPhone app if I want to share 8 or more photos as a workaround. But I am hopeful that Apple will introduce this missing feature in future iPhone firmware versions so that multiple photos can be safely sent using iPhone's mail app.

Hey Nicholas,
Thanks for dropping by to clarify that our concerns were misplaced regarding SendPhotos, appreciate it.
We have corrected the post accordingly. Sorry about the error.
Good luck with the app.
sounds promising.
Nicolas,
Can Send-photos be configured on an already existing mail account? I have Gmail already on my iphone. I have read that multi-photos will not allow for this?

You can now send multiple pictures with iPhone 3.0 OS. head on over to http://krashr.com/2009/07/how-to-send-multiple-pictures-in-an-email-on-an-iphone-3-0/ to view step by step instructions on how to do this.
Obviously apple letf this "feature" out on purpose to leave it up to someone to create a third party app. This way, they can make more money off of the feature than if they included it in the first place. Regardless of opnions on this matter, it is pure genious. It should be a basic feature.
iPhone OS 3.0 now allows users to send multiple photos from their iPhone.
Hi guys,
If you want an app that allows you to send multiple photos and looks great in the process, why not check out our App – SnapBot.

You can also send your photos at full resolution, and you don't have to save them to your camera roll which is fantastic for snaps you just want to quickly share.
