iPhone Nano Rumors: Launch in June; Not Coming to US first; Initial Launch in China?

iPhone Nano Rumor

Macworld 2009 has come and gone and as we had predicted Apple did not announce iPhone Nano at the event but the iPhone Nano rumors haven't stopped.

Taiwan's Economic Daily News is reporting that two chip manufacturers, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and United Microelectronics Corporation, are expected to receive chip orders for Apple's iPhone Nano.

Taiwan's Economic Daily News is reporting that two chip manufacturers, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and United Microelectronics Corporation, are expected to receive chip orders for Apple's iPhone nano in March indicating of the launch in time for June which fits the iPhone cycle. It is also the month Apple holds its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

Brian Marshall, an analyst at American Technology Research also believes that Apple is working on the iPhone Nano and expects the launch early this year.

But since industry insiders have confirmed that iPhone Nano has not tested by AT&T yet, he believes iPhone Nano will not be released in US initially.

I think its a case of reading too much between the lines, it is highly unlikely for Apple to release something outside of US first.

Marshall also speculates that China may be an ideal market for the iPhone Nano's initial release. He said:

"Obviously, the best-case scenario here would be a China launch (~600mil+ wireless subscribers total in the country), but we have no definitive knowledge of this and are working on identifying the local of launch and other pertinent details,"

There have been quite a few rumors about Apple's iPhone Nano prior to Macworld 2009 and since there was very little iPhone news at Apple's last Macworld 2009 I expect such rumors to continue prior to Apple's next event.

iDealsChina was the first to publish information and rendering of the iPhone Nano case manufactured by a Chinese case manufacturer, XSKN claiming that the product will be announced at Macworld San Francisco 2009.

We then had the case manufacturer, XSKN add references to iPhone nano on its website and then followed up by publishing the entire series of iPhone Nano cases for sale suggesting that rumors of a smaller version of iPhone could be true.

We also had a well-known case designer Vaja who has just updated its web catalog revealing that they have plans to release protective case for the iPhone Nano in the near future.

What do you think about the latest iPhone Nano rumors?
