We have heard rumors about the next generation iPhone and based on Phil Schiller's, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing statement to David Pogue of New York Times at Macworld 2009, it is speculated that it will be released in June as per Apple's natural product timelines.
Mark Davis, Programme Director for iPhone at Emirates Telecommunications Corp (Etisalat), a carrier in UAE who was commenting on Etisalat's launch of iPhone 3G in UAE and Saudi Arabia might have also confirmed the launch of the new iPhone in June.
Etisalat said on Monday it has signed a deal with Apple to offer iPhone 3G in the United Arab Emirate and Saudi Arabia. Apple's iPhone 3G is expected to be available in two largest Arab economies from Feb 15.
If you are in UAE and Saudi Arabia and have bought an unlocked iPhone then the good news is that you can also avail of the services.
However, the interesting part is the article by Business 24-7 covering this announcement which says:
As Gizmodo points out, though Business 24-7 did not quote Mark Davis, the information was most likely provided by him based on comments made by him in the article on the launch of iPhone 3G.
