Apple Issues $30 iTunes Store Credit for iPhone 3G S Activation Issues

iPhone 3G S Review Round Up

Though the iPhone 3G S launch seemed to be a lot better than last year's iPhone 3G launch, one of our readers, Gerrard had sent us an email to tell us that he was not able to activate his iPhone 3G S and was being told that the activation could take up 48 hours.

The issue seems to be widespread as many owners of the new iPhone got a similar message.

It is being reported that Apple has issued emails to those who are still suffering activation issues and offering them a $30 iTunes Store voucher. Here's is the entire text of the email:

Dear Apple Customer,

Thank you for your recent Apple Store order. We appreciate your patience and apologize for the inconvenience caused by the delay in your iPhone activation.

We are still resolving the issue that was encountered while activating your iPhone with AT&T. Unfortunately, due to system issues and continued high activation volumes, this could take us up to an additional 48 hours to complete.

On Monday, you’ll receive an email from Apple with an iTunes Store credit in the amount of $30. We hope you will enjoy this gift and accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this delay has caused.

Thank you for choosing Apple.

Sincerely,
Apple Online Store Team

The bad news is that the new owners might have to wait for another 48 hours.

AT&T is being blamed for some of the delays in activating the new iPhone.

Thanks Gerrard for the letting us know. We hope your activation issue has been resolved by now and you are enjoying the features of the new iPhone.

Did you face the activiation issue? Please let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
