iPhone Syncing Problem Reported With Intel P55 Powered Windows 7 Computers

iPhone syncing problem with PC running Windows 7 and Intel P55 chipset

A lot many iPhone users have been reporting on the Apple Support forum that they have been facing trouble in syncing their iPhones to iTunes 9.

The root cause of this issue is yet to be resolved, however, based on the complainants' computer configurations, it is doubted to be an issue with Windows 7 built with Intel P55 chipset.

Apparently, there is no glitch while the user connects the iPhone to the computer. However, when a syncing of the iPhone is attempted, a cryptic "error 0xE8000065" is displayed.

Addressing the issue, Microsoft has said, "Microsoft has not seen this particular question posed in the Microsoft Answers for Windows 7 community forum, nor in any of our call centers. We reviewed the issue raised on the Apple Discussion Board and are currently investigating. If we determine this to be a problem specific to Windows 7, we will post an update on the Microsoft Answers site".

Intel, on the other hand are working to see if this is a system configuration issue. In their statement, Intel has said,"Our leading theory is a BIOS or system configuration issue, but we are still investigating".

We would like to know if any of our readers have been facing this issue. In that case, you may want to try one of the quick-fixes offered by iPhone users in the forum and as reported by The Register. These include using a USB port that bypasses the P55 chipset - like a PCI based USB card, deleting the iPodDevices.xml file and then restoring from the backup, disabling Bonjour or by turning on the C-State capability in the BIOS configuration.

Please do let us know if any of these methods worked for you. In the meantime we shall keep you informed on any update from Microsoft and Intel.
