Looks like Apple is gearing itself up for some pretty big announcement. If what we are hearing is true, it is quite possible that Apple shall be demoing the much touted Apple Tablet as early as next month.
Folks at MacRumors have consolidated pieces of information from different sources to conceive what could be the launch of the much awaited Apple product.
Apparently, Apple is organizing a special media event to be held in the last week of January. The company has rented a stage at the Yerba Buena Center for Arts in San Francisco in this regard. While there has been no confirmation, it is likely that Apple will be launch a new product here on January 26th.
This is not all. Apple has also been reported to have contacted a few iPhone app developers to prepare their apps for an on-stage demo in full-screen mode. According to Silicon Alley Insider, the source has said:
"They've told select developers that as long as they build their apps to support full screen resolution — rather than a fixed 320×480 — their apps should run just fine"
Sewing up these pieces of information, it does look like it could be the Apple Tablet. So what is the new Apple Tablet going to look like? While Cupertino has maintained a stoic silence all along, there have been rumors earlier about the device being launched in multiple sizes of 7" and 10" displays. According to Apple executives, Steve Jobs has been "extremely happy" about the device and users would be "very surprised" about the way they interact with the Tablet.
It will be interesting to see if Apple gives us a glimpse of iPhone OS 4.0 during the special event. With close to a month to go for Apple's YBCA event, expect a lot more rumors and speculations to fly by. Meanwhile, we would like to hear from our readers what they would like to see in an Apple Tablet. Do tell us your wishlist in the comments below.
