AT&T Slashes Rates for iPhone Customers – Unlimited Voice And Data Plan For $99.99

AT&T announces new pricing plan

Within hours after Verizon slashed the rates on their mobile phone subscription plans, AT&T too has announced a new pricing plan for their network subscribers. Though major discounts have been offered only to the feature phone subscribers, iPhone customers too can expect a marginal reduction in their monthly expenditure.

According to this new plan, AT&T's smartphone subscribers, which obviously includes iPhone users, can avail unlimited voice and data plans for $99.99. Unlimited texting plan comes at an additional $20 which means that an overall unlimited plan for iPhone users is $119.99 - $10 less than $129.99 that you had been paying so far.

Prices of the Family talk plan has also been slashed. Under the new rates, an unlimited voice and data plan for two smartphones amount to $179.99 and if you are going for unlimited texting as well, the total cost comes to $209.99.

Users looking to change to the new plans can do so from the AT&T wireless website starting monday, January 18. Thankfully, there is no fine print here. AT&T has made it clear that no penalty or contract extension shall be brought upon subscribers moving to the new plan.

In a statement released yesterday, Ralph de la Vega, the CEO at AT&T Mobility said

"Our new plans reflect customers’ continuing desire to do more with their phones – including talking and browsing the Web at the same time.  Plus these new plans make it even more attractive to choose AT&T which already offers customers the best 3G experience and the industry’s most popular and innovative devices.”

How do you like the new plan? Are you happy with the discount or do you still think it is overpriced? Tell us us in the comments.

    Still overpriced in my opinion

  3. Wolverinemarky says:

text messaging should be included in the data and not separate

  4. JB says:

They are panicing to keep their customers. You change your plan and sign up for another two years I'm sure. AT&T losing the iphone exclusive this June. The only thing that has kept this company afloat.

  5. tjm says:

The biggest ripoff continues to be text messaging. The amount of data used to send MMS or SMS is so insignificant compared to what Apps and web browsing use, and yet proportionally the cost for MMS is way out of bounds. I am already paying for unlimited data, what am I missing here AT&T?

  6. Brian says:

I thought i was already paying 100 for this stuff?? Plus 20 for texting, great at&t u and verizon r finding new ways to ripoff the american people…..bravo!!

  7. tim says:

why does unlimited texting cost $20 for an iphone but only $15 for a regular line????? explain that!

  8. iDrizz says:

People should be really careful. With all of these talks about capping data usage in the unlimited plans, as a former employee I have seen plans get changed like this in order to introduce new rules or loopholes in contracts.

  9. Osage says:

Read the article. No contract ext required. Also there is no indication AT&T is loosing iPhone exclusivity. There were rumors last year about apple and verizon but they were quickly squashed.

  10. Z says:

    who said they've been squashed?

  11. More unbelievable that you have no clue what you are paying. DUH

  12. Jb says:

No, they are losing it in June. Where have you been. Google it.

  13. angel says:

I like it i already paid $100 so another $30 more for unlimited plan is not the bad, i think is better the before not great but good.

  14. Nelson says:

I already pay $90 for 550 minutes and unlimited text and now they want to charge $100? No thanks and by the way AT&T doesn't advertise the 550 minute plan you have to ask for it in the store, good thing my friend works for AT&T and informed me of this, so for those who don't know ask them about this plan.
