Each one of us has done this at some point - You are browsing the Internet from office and there are some interesting links you want to check out, but it's already time to leave. So, you copy all those links and email it to yourself hoping to access them later from home or from your iPhone.
There is a simple and elegant way to do this with an iPhone app.
Folks at Appsfire, an app development company have developed an application called Pastefire that simplifies this procedure. The developers call it a "Desktop-to-iPhone smart copy/paste" tool. The Pastefire iPhone app acts as an interface between a 'Copy Zone' on the Pastefire website and your iPhone. To start with, you need to install the Pastefire iPhone app and sign up.
Every time you need to copy some kind of data like email address, URL, phone number, videos, etc., you just need to paste the information at the Pastefire copy zone and press the SEND button once the login credentials are entered. To access the copied information on your iPhone, simply launch the Pastefire app and the information should be available on the clipboard.
The Pastefire iPhone app also comes in an 'automated mode'. When the app is in this mode, a copied URL from the desktop shall automatically be opened in the web browser, a Youtube link shall open up from the Youtube app, etc. The iPhone app saves a lot of time otherwise spent in mailing data to yourself and accessing them back.
But as folks at TechCrunch note, the app still needs some fine-tuning. For instance, there is no way to copy multiple links in one go or copy multiple phone numbers. Right now it has to be done one by one. We hope this update is provided to the app very soon.
Meanwhile, click here (iTunes link) to try the iPhone app and give us your feedback in the comments below.
Thanks for the note
The app was created in 1 week end and we are aware of the imperfections you noted. A few more updates are coming this week. Look out!
ps: btw we are already top 30 productivity apps in just 24h
