The sudden ban on iPhone apps with sexual content has taken a lot of app developers and users by surprise.
However, considering that the number of such iPhone apps had been steadily on the rise over the past few months, one might have seen this ban coming.
Back in April 2008, Apple acquired Santa Clara based Semiconductor company PA Semi and used the acquired technology to launch A4 – the ARM based mobile chip that is now used on the iPad. The A4 mobile chip with its 1GHz processing speed is touted to be the prime mover that enables the iPad to process applications much quicker than the iPhone whilst consuming relatively less power.
