The iPad is still a good two weeks away from launch, but the jailbreak community is already gearing up towards discovering the vulnerabilities in order to jailbreak the tablet device.
The Chronic Dev Team has revealed that it is working on enhancing Greenpois0n; the team's jailbreak software to work on the iPad.
The team has announced that work on discovering the vulnerabilities in iPhone OS 3.2 will commence as soon as the team gets hold of an iPad in a few weeks time. Chronic Dev Team has also been asking its users for donations to help them purchase an iPad for experimentation purposes. Joshua Hill, also known as p0sixninja writes to his followers on Twitter:
"You can't really develop a jailbreak for the ipad unless you have one to develop it on. It's a classic chicken and egg problem. If I had a job I would pay out of my own pocket, but iPhone exploit hunting fulltime doesn't exactly pay well (at all). Out of the hundards of hours i've donated researching, I don't think $5 or $10 from a few people is a lot to ask."
Joshua has also released a screenshot of the upcoming Greenpois0n jailbreak.
As with the iPhone, a jailbroken iPad could allow users to install applications that are not allowed on the App Store or tweaks to customize Apple's latest creation.

i check every hour and every day to see if there is any post for 3.1.3 jailbreak, still didnt see it and i been doing it for 2 months…where the 3.1.3 jailbreak.are they gonna make one. im about to give up my new 3gs 3.1.3 iphone,becurse there is no use to have it with out the jailbreak.

When the 3.1.3 came out, alot of people where trying new jailbreaks.. Maybe I just lucked into it.

You can jailbreak a 3gs on 3.1.3 if you have your ecids on cydia, or if you were jailbroken on a firmware before 3.1.3 and updated using a custom firmware..
Just wait 2 weeks for 3.2 surly then you will be able to jailbreak the Iphone/Ipad. The DEV team surly has a cunning plan (Greenpois0n).

There's no point in a 3.1.3 jailbreak. They may as well hold onto any exploits they have for the 3.2 release of the iPad before releasing the jailbreak. That way they don't tip their hand too early and they can kill two birds with one stone (3.1.3 and 3.2 jailbreak). There was no reason to upgrade to 3.1.3 in the first place, so the people that did upgrade, despite all the warnings, were… stupid.

Maybe they are all getting so much ad revenue because everyone is constantly checking back and they are enjoying the revenue from doing nothing but posting blog entries. And when it starts to decline past the levels that they live comfortably, they will simply post the new updates and generate more revenue from the new 3.1.3 and/or 3.2 JailBreaks. Then it will start all over again. And if you guys didn't think this wasn't something Apple loves, then you're crazy, because it drives revenue for their ads and focuses attention on their products. These guys who are releasing the JailBreaks are the alpha techies. If you don't think this is the case, then you're not looking at who is benefiting the most from NOT posting/postponing these fixes. We all know it's not impossible to forge the 'Make my life easier' ID that Cydia is hosting.

iphone 3.1.3 cant be jailbreaked in the same way as be4 using the 24kpwn apple have out smarted dev/and geohot the only way get 3.1.3 jailbreak is to start from scratch and they both know it

Until I see some real proof of concept (IE A video showing a successful Jailbreak) I'm taking this as a hoax, found exploit or not they shouldn't be asking for money until there is hard evidence.
I'm waiting for a 3.1.3 3GS New Bootrom JB too (Came with 3.1.3) but I'm not buying this screenshot, I could knock something up like that in 5mins.

greenpois0n so far has no credibility. the first time i heard about it (months ago), it was said to jailbreak iphone 3gs without tethering. that turned out to be a flop. i'm not sure how the developer of said "greenpois0n" can expect donations without having contributed to the jailbreak of iphones.

I think that it's very difficult to made someone a jb for 3.1.3 firmware before OS 4…I'm waiting for this boys
i dont think they will ever come out with the iphone 3.1.3 jailbreak at all.. It would be a waste of time considering the 3.2 is around the corner. so i think they are gonna wait for 3.2 to come out and by then they'll have a jailbreak for it…anyway the ppl like simon and everyone else whos screwed on the 3.1.3 FW can downgrade to 3.1.2 and ghen jailbreak..google it up…done it millons of times…you just wont be able to unlock it.

Yes because you have a non-MC model,with old bootrom,and because saurik's server(Cydia) saved your SHSH on file.

To jailbreak 3.1.3 3G iphone, you have to downgrade to 3.1.2 first.
Then use tool like pwngtool.
I once upgraded to 3.1.3 by mistake, but now my 3.1.3 is jailbroken.
