Push Doctor Fixes Push Notification Issue On Hacktivated iPhone For Free

One of the known issues with a hacktivated iPhone running iPhone OS 3.0 or later is that the Push Notification feature doesn’t work. The iPhone Dev Team had released a fix to resolve the issue back in July, but it had a major flaw.

There is finally some good news for all those who have been patiently waiting for a fix as Push Doctor has just been released on the Cydia Store to fix the push notification issue.

Push Doctor has been developed by anethema. It gives you genuine activation certificates unlike other workarounds, and they are always unique.

The fix is available on the Cydia Store for free. Here are the installation instructions:

Please remember hacking your iPhone could void its warranty. So please proceed with caution and at your own risk and don’t forget to take a backup of your iPhone (refer to this post for more details).

Simply add the NERV repository: http://cmdshft.ipwn.me/apt/ to your Cydia sources.

Search for the package called "Push Doctor".

Install it and push notification should start working on your hactivated iPhone.

Please note:

This is NOT an application you run from SpringBoard or command line. It does all the work immediately while Cydia runs. If you install this to fix push, and you decide to uninstall the package it will not remove the push fix. Reinstalling will delete your “old” certs and install new ones. You will not notice any difference, however.

If the fix doesn’t work then it could be because the server is out of unique certs due to high demand. The developer has advised users to try to reinstall the package later or the next day to fix the issue.

If you still plan to try it out then let us know how it goes. If you need support, join #pushfix on chat.osx86.hu.

People don't do research. The reason it errors is because it's out of certs. It happened to me like 5 times beforeit finally worked for me. You have to keep trying until more certs ate made. Understand the these certs are in high demand.

  16. TimW says:

If you used BlackRa1n, you don't need it
if you used Dev Team JB, you might do

  17. michael says:

I used this just 2 days ago on my Iphone 3gs unlcoked and jailborken using Blackra1n and it stopped my WIFI from working.

  18. sasha says:

my unblocked iphone 3g got blocked again after i reset network settings. it's frozen on black start up screen with Apple sign. all i can do is turn it off, using the sleep/off and home key. it doesn't react if i connect it to my laptop. what can i do?

  19. MacNurv says:

Push notification issue is a big deal for jailbroken iphones, but I have been using a way around it for some time now. After jail breaking nd unlocking my iphone I insert a official career sim (in my case O2) and wait for it to get activated. Once my phone is activated I insert my other sim and push notification starts to work. I have been using geohots "Blackra1n" and there was also an issue with Youtube application but by activating it with an official sim I do not have any such issues. Please feel free to try, it will work.

  20. TimW says:

    Run Blackra1n again to reboot
sounds like a 3Gs JB & unlock to me
After rebooting via Blackra1n, re-run the unlock but be prepared to run Blackra1n again to reboot
    HTH

  21. Ry says:

I am running 3.1.2 on a 2g with Pwnage Tool dev team hack. It didn't fix my push or give me a good cert and now Cydia keeps crashing when i boot into it. I've tried rebooting. What should I do? Is restore my only option?

  22. Andy_TW says:

sounds like a reasonable way. but, do you lost it after you turn it off and on again with THE OTHER SIM in?

  23. parveen says:

  30. I just tried this on my iPhone 2G that's jailbroken sn0wbreeze and it doesn't appear to have worked. It gave several errors and then Cydia continued to explain about it being "half installed" until I ignored it.

So it looks like a no go for this one.
