We have some exciting news! Apple has issued invitations for a special event on April 8.
Apple is hosting the event to give a sneak peek of iPhone OS 4.0, the next major upgrade to iPhone OS.
The event is scheduled to take place three days from now at the Town Hall auditorium on the Apple's campus in Cupertino, CA at 10AM Pacific.
Gizmodo reports:

To all those complaining about the lack of Jailbreak/Unlock for the new OS/Baseband, this article ask for wishes for the new OS. Apple is not responsible for providing jailbreaks so why are you asking for it as if Apple owes it to you?

Snow Leopard works on ALL Intel Macs. The first Intel Mac was at Macworld '06
OS 2.X.X and OS 3.X.X works on the original iPhone. In that way OS 4.X should work on the iPhone 3G and OS 5.X on the 3GS

Multi tasking, screen rotation lock, double tap to follow a link (am sick of going to all the embeded links when all I want is to scrole down the page), and flash are must haves in 4.0!!!!!! Would also like to be able to pick the tones and volume on incoming mail & SMS.
For the next iPhone my upgrade will be mostly based on a minimum 2x, ideally 5x battery life improvement, give us a fatter iPhone option to fit a freaking big battery, am sure most will pick this over the 8h battery we have now! Exchange mail on a 3gs means not making it through a day how can that be remotly acceptable???
Real keyboard, touch screen is better than any other, but it's what makes RIM a better email productivity tool!
Video conferencing would be great on business trips away from the family, would love to skype home say goodnight with video for the little one!

I want 4.0 to make my…….bigger. I am sick of buying products over the internet that do not turn my ipod into an iPad Jr.
Oh, and teleportation is a realistic expectation. I am also hoping it will include a camera for my iPod touchy feely, so I can make some adult movies then post them on the internet.
nobody has said any thing about a jailbreak for the bootrom they are all software based hence they dont want to release it yet becuase a software hack is very easy to patch we have proof that a untethered jailbreak is out there they just being smart with it.
Here's what I want…
1. Folders because I have too many apps
2. Complete universal landscape
3. Faster Internet
FM radio will require an FM antenna. The current iPhone models do not offer this. Perhaps in a new iPhone 4G?
