Apple had launched the iPhone 4 case program and had also released an iPhone app that lets customers apply for their free iPhone 4 bumper or case.
Since Apple can’t make enough iPhone 4 bumpers it has roped in accessory manufacturers like Griffin, Belkin, Incase and Speck to supply iPhone 4 cases for the program.
Here is the list of options available to iPhone 4 users:
Apple iPhone 4 Bumper:
The iPhone 4 bumper black is made of durable rubber and molded plastic. The two-tone bumper fits snugly around the edges of your iPhone 4.
It ships in 3 – 5 weeks and is sold for $29.
Incase Snap Case for iPhone 4:
The Incase Snap case for iPhone 4 attaches easily and securely, providing device coverage, scratch protection and direct access to all iPhone features. Apple is offering this case in smoke and clear colors.
It ships in 3 – 5 weeks (price was not available).
Speck Fitted Case iPhone 4:
Speck Fitted case is a hard-shell case with a distinctive matte cloth texture on the back. The case has cutouts to expose the iPhone’s buttons and ports.
It ships in 4 to 6 weeks and its regular price is $29.95.
Belkin Shield Micra for iPhone 4:
Belkin’s Sheild Micra for iPhone 4 is a translucent case. According to Belkin, it’s a lightweight ultra-thin hard case. It seems to also offer protection for buttons and has cutouts for iPhone’s ports.
It ships in 6 to 8 weeks (price was not available).
Griffin Motif iPhone 4:
Griffin’s Motif for iPhone 4 uses a scuff- and tear-resistant material, which is stiffer than silicone-based FlexGrip cases, but more flexible than the hard polycarbonate cases like the Reveal Etch that is also available as an option. The case has cutouts to expose the iPhone’s buttons and ports.
It ships in 6 to 8 weeks and its regular price is $19.99.
Griffin Reveal Etch iPhone 4:
Griffin’s Reveal Etch for iPhone 4 is a ultra-slim hard-backed case, which adds just a little over a millimeter in thickness to the sides and back of your iPhone. It comes with rubber sides with full coverage polycarbonate back. It allows unhindered access to multi-Touch display, controls, and ports.
It ships in 8 to 10 weeks and its regular price is $29.99.
Speck PixelSkin HD:
PixelSkin for iPhone 4 is a silicone rubber case with a rounded square grid texture for extra grip, wrapping around the top, bottom, and sides. The case has holes to give you direct access to iPhone’s buttons and ports.
It ships in 2 – 3 months and its regular price is $24.95.
There are quite a few choices so it boils down to your personal preference and the availability of the cases.

Incase clear – just cause
I got the apple bumper. I got tired of my belkin it keep peeling my invisishield. So I'm hoping the bumper doesn't bubble it up:)
I have a case like the belkin, and I hate it, reminds me and my friends of a condom!.. So bumper it is.
Incase Snap / Clear
Well, if they ever offer another color, I'll get a bumper. I already have a black one.
Had the same problem. I took some sharp scissors or a razorblade, and cut about one millimeter around the whole edge. Sides and top and bottom. Put the case back on, and it works perfect! It might not always come out looking great, but it works extremely well.
I don't like any of these cases. I think they should allow you to get any case and ignite not on the list subtract the lowest free case value from it.

I applied for a bumper ….. just to have an iphone 4 apple case
and i like the design and the fact that it does not cover the back of the phone
went for apple bumper..light weight…thought of going for belkin…but dropped after seeing responses….
the cases don't work i got mine in the apple store and i still have the deathgrip issue… kthx apple for the amazing fix.. good thing my 30 days isn't up im returning the phone. maybe the *next* model that they're *not* making will be "fixed" but there is no problem with their phone remember?

I'm getting a Belkin Shield Micra in clear, as I've got a Gelaskin that I'd still like to show off.
Incase snap / clear. Didn't want to take away the look of the phone plus felt it won't interfere with a dock.
None of them,I just ordered the otterbox defender due to working conditions. I have a black $4.00 bumper from china that fits great for nights out on the town
I had the Reveal but it messed up my zagg skin on the back and I have the Apple bumper now but it won't allow me to plug up my autopilot car charger or my DLO battery pack which sucks so I ordered the Belkin Shield Micra but i couldn't find any photos of the bottom to see if i would have the same problem with connecting non apple cords.. oh well I did drop my iphone 4 twice yesterday after i was bent down so it fell like almost 2 feet on the pavement.. and thank God it didn't break anything.. it did scratch the corner of the bumper so i might go ahead and use a razor blade to modify the bumper to fit the connectors..
Wow ordered my free case with the app when it went online they said it would take 5 weeks to deliver however just got an e-mail saying it has been dispatched and 3-5 working days to get to me so as my dad used to say "cant be bad !"
I had to change 10 cases until I finally found one that it is not peeling screen protector. It is one millimeter smaller around the edge.
I'm getting Speck Fitted, although I wish the camo was available instead of plaid. Maybe I'll try to exchange it at AT&T store.
Which one did you find that doesn't? I'm having that problem, plus some cases don't fit over my invisible shield (full body).
griffin reveal etch
My wife got me the Incipio Black Soft Shell case when she picked up my iPhone from AT&T on the 24th and I've been extremely happy with it. An I've had absolutely no reception problems, love this phone!
wow i dont know which one to get i wanted white iphone with white bumper but that belkin one looks good but will probably go with an apple bumper

hmm, I'd like to have free iPhone 4 bumper.
But I hope Apple better have something better than "free bumpers for all"……..
(especially since I returned my iphone 4 day one over this issue and am patiently awaiting a fix)
While I love their products, of course I do hope Apple steps up on the iPhone 4 improving as soon.
