Apple has just released iTunes 9.2.1, which according to the release notes includes a number of bug fixes such as issue upgrading to iOS 4 on an iPhone or iPod Touch with encrypted back-ups.
It is available via Apple Software update and is around 65MB in size.
According to the release notes, the following bugs have been fixed:

Disables older versions of some incompatible third-party plug-ins

Addresses minor issues with dragging and dropping items

Addresses a performance issue when first syncing to some devices with iTunes 9.2

Addresses an issue upgrading to iOS 4 on an iPhone or iPod touch with encrypted back-ups

Addresses other issues that improve stability and performance
Last month, Apple had released iTunes 9.2, which included several new features and improvements such as:

Sync with iPhone 4 to enjoy your favorite music, movies, TV shows, books and more on-the-go

Sync and read books with iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 4 and iBooks 1.1

Organize and sync PDF documents as books. Read PDFs with iBooks 1.1 on iPad and any iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 4

Organize your apps on your iOS 4 home screens into folders using iTunes

Faster back-ups while syncing an iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 4

Album artwork improvements make artwork appear more quickly when exploring your library
If you have jailbroken your iPhone then its always a good idea to wait for the iPhone Dev Team to confirm whether it is fine to upgrade to iTunes 9.2.1. We’ll let you know as soon as we’ve any further updates.
If you don’t care about jailbreaking then you can download iTunes 9.2.1 from this link or via Apple Software update.

MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team has clarified that it is fine to upgrade to iTunes 9.2.1 if you've already jailbroken your iPhone/iPod Touch on iOS 4 or iOS 4.0.1 using Redsn0w or PwnageTool but to avoid it until further notice if you are waiting to use Spirit like tool that Comex is expected to release to jailbreak iOS 4.x.x.
iTunes 9.2.1 is fine for already-JB devices, also new JBs via redsn0w/PwnageTool. Avoid it for now for fresh Spirit JBs
I've had an issue on my Mac, since 9.2, trying to restore ios 4.0 and 4.1 on my 3g and 4g: it never actually finishes – and gets stuck at around 80%. Had to resort to using my Windows 7 laptop – which I hate doing. Hope this fixes it.
Just wondering? Do you have wifi sync, I had that installed and had the same problem.And if you have cydia as a shsh source it will also give you problems to
better performance an a windows pc….u probably should have kept that quiet…lol

Yay is right! The iBooks update makes PDF viewing much more pleasant. I have all my textbooks on my iPad, so this is very welcome.
Now all I need is multitasking. Come on 4.0!

sorry to say that i have had no problems with my windows laptop using 9.2 in conjunction with my iphone 3g. also no problems with downgrading from 4.0 back to 3.1.3, but i can confirm that i have seen and experienced problems with macbook using 9.2

I'm not a Mac user, but can gain access to a MacBook Pro on latest OS.
My 3Gs has previously been JB'd with Spirit on a Win7 notebook.
My 3Gs is currently on 4.0/O2 UK & is officially unlocked by O2
Can I go ahead & use the MacBook to JB with Redsn0w or Pwnage Tool or wait for Comex??
@ Ashley, i've been having that same problem on my Mac but mine was since itunes 9. Every time i needed to do a restore, i had to go back to a latter version of itunes for restore to fully complete so i have a backup of itunes 9.0.2. I also hope this update is going to fix that.
