Dev Team Releases PwnageTool 4.1.2; Includes Bug Fixes

Jailbreak iOS 4 on iPhone 3GS

iPhone Dev team had released PwnageTool 4.1 for Mac OS X on the eve of Apple’s ‘Back to Mac’ event.

If you faced problems using it then checkout PwnageTool (v4.1.2) as iPhone Dev Team has just released, which fixes issues for Mac OS X 10.5.x users.

So to recap, PwnageTool will allow users who want to jailbreak and also unlock their iPhone to update their iPhone with a pre-jailbroken iOS 4.1 firmware while preserving the baseband so that it can be unlocked using Ultrasn0w.

If you’ve already jailbroken your iDevice using PwnageTool, greenpois0n or limera1n then you don’t need to re-run it.

PwnageTool 4.1.2 supports the following devices:

Windows users will have to wait for Sn0wbreeze, which is the Windows version of the PwnageTool. iH8sn0w, the developer had published some screenshots of the upcoming tool but there is currently no ETA on when it will be released.

You can download PwnageTool 4.1 from the following:

Bittorrent - PwnageTool_4.1.2.dmg.5904259.TPB.torrent

Please note that jailbreaking your iDevice may void its warranty so proceed with caution and at your own risk. Please don’t forget to backup your iPhone before you proceed. You can refer to this post for instructions on how to backup your iPhone.

  3. Adog says:

anyone has a proper torrent with OS X for VMWARE? or is sn0w coming soon?

  4. Farm says:

I have the iphone 4 with 4.0.2. Is there any reason to wait for sn0wbreeze? Or can I just use tinyumbrella and greenpois0n? What is the difference? Thanks for the help. And thanks A LOT to the Dev Yeam, ih8tsnow, limra1n, TY, an all those that make my device what it's meant to be.

  5. jack says:

any way i can go back to my previous baseband, i accidently updated to 4.1 without pwnage tool. i used limera1n on it so it's jailbroken, but i have a newer baseband which hasn't been unlocked yet.

  6. Stvho says:

Any updates on battery life problems? Holding off on 4.1 til I hear more about that…seems the issues affect 4.1 both jailbroken and not?

  7. MP says:

I have the same problem…updated it to 4.1 on accident and now is there any way to Unlock it? If not, how long will I have to wait for it?

  8. T says:

In all seriousness what age are you?

  9. T says:

And how old might you be? I'm not being funny just Interested

  10. TillTheEndBB says:

If you have 01.59.00 baseband or older, you can go ahead and update to 4.1 using tinyumbrella then jailbreak it with greenpois0n. Just be careful. Read the instructions over and over before you proceed.

  11. TillTheEndBB says:

I always wonder why people keep "accidentally" screwing themselves?
Any way, YES! Your baseband can be reversed. I know a little shop in Ha Noi, Vietnam where they disassemble your phone, pull out the chip which store the baseband firmware, then they re-program it and solder it back to the mother board. It cost 80 bucks, another 1200 bucks for 2 ways round trip, but an unlocked iPhone is priceless.

  12. TillTheEndBB says:

What the hell are you talking about? It seems like you're the only one with that problem. You should send yours back to Apple to get it fix or an exchange.

  13. Fahad says:

hey guyz, can you help me to jailbreak and unlock my 3gs 3.1.3(jailbreaked and unlocked) to 4.0.1? i already downloaded the stock 4.0.1 from apple, then i used snowbridge 2.2 to create custom ipsw file. then i i used tinyumbrella to save mh shsh to pc and saurik website(cause i cant find any more thanks button to save shsh in cydia). now whenever i tried to install it through recovery mode with itunes, it is always stoped and said an error 16xxxx or something. and funny thing is, after couple of time, my iphone is not now going to recovery mode lol. what should i do now? i really want to use ios 4. thanks.
