AirPlay was one of the cool features introduced in iOS 4.2, which allows iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users to stream audio and video content to the new Apple TV.

But at the same it was disappointing to find out that the AirPlay audio and video streaming functionality was available only on the iPod app and YouTube app and it was possible to only stream audio from third party iPhone apps including the Mobile Safari browser.

iPhone Dev Team has released an unofficial PwnageTool bundle for iPhone 3GS owners with the old bootrom that want to update to iOS 4.2.1 without upgrading their baseband.

So if your iPhone 3GS baseband is 05.13.04 or lower (Settings -> General -> About -> Modem Firmware) then you should install the bundle before using PwnageTool 4.1.3 to update to iOS 4.2.1

Redsn0w 0.9.6beta5 For iOS 4.2.1 Released To Unlock iPhone 3GS & iPhone 3G [Updated]

After releasing PwnageTool for Mac earlier iPhone Dev Team has released Redsn0w to allow users to flash their iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G with iPad’s exploitable 06.15.00 baseband so that they can use Ultrasn0w 1.2 to unlock their iPhone.

Redsn0w 0.9.6beta5 is available for both Windows and Mac users.

iPhone Dev Team has released the eagerly awaited unlock for iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS users on iOS 4.2.1 just as they had promised.

Apple had patched the exploit that allowed users to unlock their iPhone in iOS 4.1 released on September 8 so it has been a long wait for users who wanted to software unlock their iPhone to use it with any carrier.

Orange UK Reveals Subsidized iPad Pricing; Starts At £199

Earlier in the week, Orange UK had announced that they will be offering Apple’s iPad Wi +3G model for subsidized rates for customers willing to commit to a contract for the data plan.

In a short press release announcing the subsidized iPad pricing, Orange said:
