If you are in the US and have set a recurring alarm on your iPhone or iPod Touch then please note that the alarm will go off an hour late due to switch back to Standard time from Daylight Saving Time tonight at 2:00 am.
Apple has acknowledged this annoying bug and has confirmed that it will be fixed in iOS 4.2.
In the support document, Apple has described the symptoms as follows:
“In some regions, shortly before or after the daylight saving time (DST) change, repeating alarms created in the Clock app may work incorrectly”
The bug has already affected iPhone users in Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.
Apple has provided the following solution to resolve the issue until iOS 4.2 is released:
To resolve this behavior for existing alarms, set the repeat interval to Never. You will need to reset these alarms for each day you need them.
After the switch back to Standard Time from DST tonight, you can set your alarms to repeat again.
Please don’t forget to tell your family and friends who own an iPhone or iPod Touch about the bug and how to resolve it.
Good to know for all the women out there who use their alarm for BCP! lol.
Another thing you can do is make 2 alarms, One to repeat on weekdays and another to go on weekends. That way you get your whole week alarm, without the bug. And also easier than resetting everyday.
I know I have the choice to no longer come here, but are you guys serious with the amount of ads you've got up? Plus all the useless links? I'm all for supporting the publishers of websites, it's just that you guys have it all wrong!
seems like apple spends more time spoiling the jailbreak than gettiong the operating system to work
Now 4.2 will be further delayed, what the …
I didn't change anything and my phones alarm went off at the correct time by itself. I'm running 4.1.
My alarm on my iOS v4.1 iPhone 4, which was set for 5:30am, just went off at 4:30am. I'm in North Carolina.
Yeah my alarm for 5:30 am went off today at 6:30 am…? Haha I just deleted it and I hope it works tomorrow!
