Hasbro, one of the largest toymakers in the US is planning to unveil a new accessory called My3D that will bring 3D content to the iPhone and the iPod Touch.
My3D looks like a pair of binoculars, which has a slot to insert the iPhone or iPod Touch. Once connected, you can use it to view 3D content on the iPhone or iPod Touch using specialized apps that will be available on the App Store.
According to the Associated Press, “My3D” has the backing of Apple and the product had been under the works for some time with Apple actively assisting Hasbro with the development.
Associated Press reports:
“My3D promises three-dimensional content that offers a 360-degree experience in gaming, virtual travel experiences and entertainment content. It's aimed at both children and adults.”
For 3D content, Hasbro is reportedly working with Dreamworks Animations and 3D TV network from Discovery, Sony and Imax that is expected to be launched next year.

Hasbro's My3D will be available in Apple Retail stores from next spring. The iPhone accessory is expected to cost $30. At that price, Hasbro feels there is a great potential for My3D – considering the fact that there is nothing like it in the market as of now.
Do you fancy watching 3D content on your iPhone or iPod Touch?

who the hell is gonna wear that thing?
WTF!
hello? "The My3D “kit” consists of a binocular like device that attaches to your iPhone."
That was not an accurate description. We have corrected it. Thanks for pointing it out.
For $30 i'll check it out, lol
i think thats there goal: "for 30 bucks, what the heck."
30$ 3D binoculars!? Definitly the next best thing sinced sliced bread! Cant wait to be walking into a virtual representation of the Great Pyramid in my living room…
FAIL. Looks a new Virtual Boy is coming soon….
Maybe you're a really too "old school" to understand that 3D is nothing like it at the time of the virtual boy which used monochrome red led pixel… WAKE UP! have you seen Avatar yet?
Yep, and it gave me just as big a headache as the virtual boy used to. Anything that relies on optical illusions will just give some people headaches, regardless of the method used.
Agreed. And add the fact, some people just don't perceive it as 3D.
So yea, I "might" check it out, though doubt I'll throw my money away on something like this crap.
Technically this device seems to "split" the screen into two equal segments , so that each eye will see its content for 3D visualization. Technically there will be than some disadvantages. A) the size will be not landscape B) the resolution will be quite bad (3GS)
However …. Let's See …
I wouldnt be surprised to see it work on i4s only for that specific reason…
stupid idea. until they make it so i dont have to wear anything and it is 3d i am not interested
I only say Fail because who's gonna carry this with them everywhere. Now Myvu glasses, those dont make you look weird in public
