PowerAlerter: Jailbreak App Allows You To Customize Battery Alerts For iPhone

Power Alerter

If you’ve been in a situation where you would have preferred to get an audio alert for low battery life or an alert a lot earlier then below 20% then jailbreak app - PowerAlerter is just for you as it allows you to customize the battery alerts and more.

Here is the official description of PowerAlerter:

With this tweak, you will get alerts (visual, haptic and audio) if the charge of your iOS device will drop under a certain percentage.

The jailbreak app allows you to customize at what percentage to trigger the alert.

You can also set an audio alert and/or use the vibrate option for the battery alerts, which can be useful.

It also gives you an option to trigger some actions such as turn off your iPhone (though I couldn’t think of a situation where I would like to use this option) or disable Wi-Fi when the battery is less than some customizable value.

PowerAlerter is available on the Cydia App Store for $1.50. After you have installed it, you can configure the alerts etc via the Settings app (Settings –> Power Alerter).

Please let us know if you found the jailbreak app useful.

I don't see a need for this if you have numerical battery % .. just another "gimic" if you ask me

agree with u..and not worth for the price..

It would have been handy if there was an alert in the program, which notifies that the phones is fully charged

I agree with you. on screen and special with sound alert.

Yeah… no. I saw this in Cydia and looked at it out of morbid curiosity. I don't see any use for it at all.

OH!! I just thought of a use. If my wife had an iPhone, I might use this app to give her a major loud alert that it needs to be charged. She constantly forgets to charge her phone.

I guess Apple should give this anyway.

Just a useless addition to cydia store…

I do find this tool useful: I use my old iPhone as a music player with the built-in iPod dock in my car. Naturally, I want the device to power off automatically as soon as external power is lost (so that I don’t find it dead in the morning). So I set PowerAlerter to something like 95% and it is supposed to shut off in no time automatically. Unfortunately it does not work on the 1st generation iPhone with iOS 3.1.3… I had to get asBattery to enable Battery Percentage in Settings, and then PowerAlerter sees it, and attempts to shut down at the right percentage. However, instead of powering off it just crashes Mobile Substrate and the phone stays on and running in Safe Mode. I wonder if maybe it’s not PowerAlerter’s fault.

Hmm, it appears that PowerAlerter crashes MobileSubstrate on iPhone 4 running iOS 4.1, too. The “power off” feature just does not work!
