Chinese newspaper – China Times reports that iPhone 5 has entered trial production and is due for production in the third quarter of this year.
ChinaTimes claims that according to their source, iPhone 5 will come with metal chassis to address the iPhone 4 antenna problem that has received so much negative publicity.
China Times also claims that iPhone 5 will come with 4-inch screen and will come with built-in NFC (Near Field Communication) after all, which is expected to be used for mobile payments and portable remote computing.

Based on the rumors and speculations we’ve heard so far about iPhone 5, here are some of the possibilities:
-
iPhone 5 will get iPad 2’s dual-core A5 processor
-
Built-in NFC chips for mobile payments and portable remote computing
Apple is expected to launch iPhone 5 this summer, most likely during the WWDC 2011 keynote address.
What’s on your wish list for iPhone 5? Do you want iPhone 5 with 4-inch screen or are you happy with the 3.5-inch screen? Let us know in the comments.

Metal chassis….They just want to add wait?
Weight
Don’t worry…AT&T will add the “wait”! heh!
+10000
Looks like a Verizon middle plate and AT&T middle plate… So sign of anything of what their sayin
Don’t think the volume buttons changed position on the Verizon chassis though, did they? these are in a different position.
Yes, The volume buttons had to b lowered to compensate for the CDMA antenna design. If u look at the break of that antenna, it’s where the mute switch is on the att iPhone.
Last Jan, it has been posted. Verizon(CDMA) do need a sim slot. just WCDMA or GSM need a sim slot. it has a sim slot.
Apple didnot change current AT&T model yet.
Captain Obvious apparently didnt know this…. As a long time user of GSM (If he would have ever used a CDMA mobile telephone he would have known that CDMA phones dont have SIM cards), either that or he was so high he wasnt paying attention, cause even i remember this site posting pictures of the CDMA iphone4 outer band, and the post about ifixit tearing apart the iphone4 and showing that it didnt have a sim card. Captain Obvious is Obviously an idiot.
Verizon CDMA, Do not need a Simcard.
Just WCDMA and GSM need..
the best thing is soon tmobile users wont have to unlock iphone as att bought tmobile company and soon enought iphone will also be available on tmobile
FCC needs to approve the merger… not final
I’d love a bigger screen. Wife just got an htc inspire 4g and I love how big the screen. Makes my i4 feel dinky in comparison
it is very questionable.
If increase the screeen with same resolution, they can not clame ‘Retina’ display. this is a big marketing point in 4.
They need to increase the resolution also, but, It is not easy to resolve the compatiblity of software.
They might not be able to claim retina quality display, but will still tout a higher pixel density than any other smartphone on the market, even the brand new Optimus 2X. I hope apple chooses AMOLED this time though…… Steve Jobs HEAR ME!!!!
Please, for the love of god, bigger memory!! Is 64 gigs too much to ask for?
The memory is the most expensive component in the whole phone. The version most sold is the 16gb. Not so much the 32gb, and not many will want a 64gb version.
I feel that is make sense. but, how many people will want to buy 64GB with $100 more cost. ?
I doubt the metal case will add as much weight as the half inch more of space for apple to cram more stuff into. the dual processor, larger screen, and other additions will add more weight…
I agree about the metail case.
This is the pretty old one..

•iPhone 5 will get iPad 2’s dual-core A5 processor
It should be 99%.
•Edge to edge screen
It is very very difficult base on current frame structure. because of there is no way to fix on the frame. on Current design < 1%, New design maybe
•Larger 4-inch screen
It is not gonna happen. because of the resolution and compatibility issues. If apple decide to give up 'Retina'. it is very very difficult
•Aluminum/ flat metal back panel
With current structure to prevent the crack of back glass ? but, size and weight ? maybe, they can reduce 0.1~0.2mm ?
•iPhone 4 like form factor or could be completely redesigned
I believe they are testing couple of difference concept devices..
•Built-in NFC chips for mobile payments and portable remote computing
It is very possible improvements. but, where we can use this function now ? Even It is very difficult to find a software/apps which support Gyro. -.-a
I wouldn’t mind seeing the same size screen with less trim, same function smaller over all form. wireless charging similar to the touchstone would be nice as well . . . you know a new feature which means new accessories for apple
Looks legit to me. Although I have to say that I do like the current look of the iPhone; it’s a classic. I guess Apple got enough complaints about the glass though, so it’s time to go back to the original design. I’m really digging the extra screen real estate though, much needed.
Its almost the same except the bigger screen.
BULLSHIT! images are Verizon’s iPhone 4 !!! no i5
I doubt that…Verizon has no Sim card slot so definitely that isn’t the image of a Verizon iphone 4.
It’is the verizon iphone compared to a gsm iphone , vibrate botom a bit lower because of the black line being on the top left of the middle case to counter the antenna issue .
and ass well , how can you be sure it isn’t a gsm iphone insted of the verizon one on the photo where the show sim card holes ?
sorry for double posting

check the photos in this article…
If the iPhone5 comes out with a larger screen I won’t trade my 3GS in 4 the HTC Inspire. I really do hope the iPhone comes out with a larger screen.
First of all PEOPLE, it’s gonna be iPhone 4G, Apple goes by the network version on, they wouldn’t skip to another version just randomly!! And the screen is gonna probably be even more of an LED highlight.
I want more memory. At least 64Gb and preferably more. Music, apps, photos and videos add up.
