Instagram For iPhone Updated To Add Radial Tilt Shift Mode; Also Improves Image Quality And Performance


Folks at Instagram have just updated their iPhone app.

Instagram, in case you haven’t installed it already, is a popular iPhone app that allow users to take photos, add filters to make them look better or funny and share them with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr etc. 

Here’s what’s new in the latest version of Instagram:

  • Added Radial tilt shift mode
  • Image quality improvements when choosing from library
  • Improved speed throughout the app
  • Crash fixes & improvements
  • Help Desk link (Profile > About > Help Desk)

The tilt shift mode is pretty cool and works as follows:

  • take a photo (or choose one from your photo library)
  • on the Filters screen, tap “tilt shift” at the lower left corner of your photo (if you don’t see it, just tap the lower left corner of your photo and it should appear)
  • choose linear ( – ) or radial ( o ) tilt shift
  • drag the double lines (linear) or circle (radial) to the desired section of the photo and use the scroller to increase/decrease blurriness
  • tap the Apply button to apply the effect and go back to the Filters screen

As mentioned earlier, the latest version of Instagram adds radial tilt shift mode.

To update to the latest version of Instagram, visit the App Store on your iPhone or iPod Touch and select Updates or download it for free using this iTunes link in case you haven’t installed it already.
