Sn0wbreeze 2.7: Untethered Jailbreak For iOS 4.3.3 And iOS 4.2.8 For Windows Released

Sn0wbreeze v2.5.1

iH8sn0w has just released Sn0wbreeze 2.7 for Windows, which allows users who want to jailbreak and also unlock their GSM iPhone to update their iPhone with a pre-jailbroken iOS 4.3.3 firmware while preserving the baseband from getting upgraded so that it can be unlocked using Ultrasn0w. Sn0wbreeze 2.7 also supports iOS 4.2.8 for Verizon iPhone.

Sn0wbreeze is considered the unofficial PwnageTool for Windows. iPhone Dev Team has also released PwnageTool for Mac users sometime back.

It allows users to create custom iOS 4.3.3 or iOS 4.2.8 firmware file that is pre-jailbroken, which can be used to upgrade their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to iOS 4.3.3 or Verizon iPhone to iOS 4.2.8.

In case of iPhone, it also preserves the baseband from getting upgraded so that it can be unlocked using Ultrasn0w.

ih8sn0w has provided the following details in the release notes:

  • Now Supports iOS 4.3.3 [untethered] (except iPad 2)
  • Now Supports iOS 4.2.8 [untethered] (Verizon iPhone 4 users)
  • Multitasking Gestures are enabled in the Settings app as usual
  • ultrasn0w works with previous working baseband thanks to today's update
  • Verizon iPhone 4 basebands now get updated [GSM versions not affected]
  • Animated boot logos work as usual.

Sn0wbreeze 2.7 supports an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2 and supports the following devices:

Sn0wbreeze 2.7 doesn't support iPad 2. Sn0wbreeze 2.7 also allows users to enable four and five finger multitouch gestures, which are only available to developers of iOS developer program.

Please note that the ultrasn0w fix currently supports iPhone 4 baseband 01.59.00 and iPhone 3GS basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 and 06.15.00.

iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone users who don't care about unlocking are better off using Redsn0w as one doesn't need to preserve baseband like iPhone users.

You can download Sn0wbreeze 2.7 from iH8sn0w’s website.

As always, please let us know how it goes.

Personally, I think you should have done your patient waiting before purchasing your ipad2. But good luck with it.

    Having issues on Verizon 4.2.8

i’ve done it about 10 times (not exaggerating) and can’t get it to stick. stock firmware is working fine however…i’d really hate to use THAT though :( should have waited before jumping on the jb train i guess…

it’s loading up but then sticking on the “connect to itunes” logo screen…tried 3 different programs to kick it out but none worked…thinking i might be rolling original firmware soon :(

i already jailbroke my phone with redsn0w. only to realize after that my baseband is not eligible to lock using ultrasn0w 1.2.3 while the whole purpose of my jailbreak is to unlock my iPhone 4.3.3
