Sn0wbreeze 2.8 Beta 2 Gets Untethered iOS 5 Jailbreak Support For iPhone 3GS With Older Bootrom

Sn0wbreeze iOS 5

iH8sn0w has just released a new version of Sn0wbreeze – v2.8 beta 2 for iOS 5 beta that supports an untethered jailbreak for iPhone 3GS with older bootrom.

iH8sn0w had released Sn0wbreeze 2.8 beta 1 few days back to jailbreak iOS 5 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Sn0wbreeze allows users to create custom iOS 5 beta 1 firmware file that is pre-jailbroken, which can be used to upgrade their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to iOS 5 beta 1. In case of iPhone, it also preserves the baseband from getting upgraded so that it can be unlocked using Ultrasn0w.

Sn0wbreeze v2.8 beta 2 supports the following iOS 5 devices:

The jailbreak is tethered for all the supported iOS devices (except iPhone 3GS with an older bootrom), which means that you need to connect your iOS device to the computer on every reboot.

iPhone Dev team has also released Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 for Mac and Windows to jailbreak iOS 5 beta for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch but supports only a tethered jailbreak.

You can download Sn0wbreeze 2.8 beta 2 from this link.

As always, let us know how it goes.
