AndroidLock XT: Jailbreak App Brings Android-like Lock Screen To Jailbroken iPhone

If you’ve switched from an Android-based smartphone to an iPhone and missing the Android-like lock screen where you can draw the correct pattern to unlock, then we have you covered.

Jailbreak app – AndroidLock XT – as the name suggests brings the Android-like lock screen to jailbroken iOS devices instead of using the passcode.

AndroidLockXT includes the following features:

  • Customizable appearance and themes
  • Enable/Disable switch
  • Tap/Slide to unlock (AndroidLock is minimized)
  • Compatible with LockCalendar, LockInfo and Cydgets
  • Max attempts limit
  • Emergency call
  • Can be set to require pattern only after some time
  • iCaughtU support

AndroidLock XT supports the following iOS devices and software updates:

  • iPhone (iOS 4/iOS 5)
  • iPod touch (iOS 4/iOS 5)
  • iPad (iOS 3.2/iOS 4/iOS 5)

After installing AndroidLock XT, slide to unlock will now bring the Android-like lockscreen.

You can checkout the slideshow of the screenshots by clicking the image below:

The nice thing about the app is that there are several themes available for free on Cydia, which allows you to change the look and feel of the lock screen if you get bored of the default themes like the theme that brings Android 4.0 a.k.a Ice Cream Sandwich lock screen to your iOS device:

Update: AndroidLock XT is available on Cydia for $1,49.

As always, let us know what you think about the jailbreak app in the comments. Since the jailbreak app has been available for quite sometime now, please do let us if you’re using it and your favorite theme. The Pac-Man theme is our favorite.

For some strange reason we haven’t covered it before. So guess it was high time we did.

There’s one called iLock… It does exactly this but has way more features and the ability for other developers to create their own skins / lock screen style.

        • Thanks Chris we’ll check it out.

problems with iLock. It’s not been supported for awhile now. It also conflict with Mail app when you turn on the passcode which they recommended you to turn it off :O . It also does not support ICaughtUPro……

iphonehacks like an apple.. they thought it was a new thing, but android is already having all this thing earlier..

Just switched from iPhone to android, but don’t have a go at me for still being here, I still have an old ipod touch that I like to tweak, I’m just saying that if you’re all so amazed by what android can do, stop modding your iphone to look like an android, and go buy an android, I love boh phones, but this is slightly daft!

    • kiddowiddo

      I love both*

      • Some things are quite nice about Android like the lock screen, but that doesn’t mean users like Android enough to switch from an iPhone.

It is pretty cool to be able to install such jailbreak apps to bring functionality that you like in other smartphones to iOS. It’s the best of both worlds.

Is this app free or how much does it cost?

    • It’s available on Cydia for $1.49.

Note: We’ve update the post to mention the price of the jailbreak app. Thanks for pointing it out.

  • Robo836

I had to remove it because it doesn’t allow any input and can’t unlock when you get a reminder. Lame.

Tweak works great. Very satisfied with it. Only thing is that I can’t get it to work with iCaughtU Pro. Anybody know how to do this? Thanks.

  • Mr. Dev

I’ve managed to setup the android lock for my 3GS and also removed the 4 digit lock system of the iPhone. Now, i can’t add mail accounts without having to add the same 4 digit security mechanism in place. Is there any way out? Please advise!

    Thanks in advance!
