Apple Seeds iOS 5.1 Beta 2 To Developers

While we wait for Apple to release iOS 5.0.2 to fix the remaining bugs that is affecting battery life, it has seeded the second beta version of iOS 5.1 to developers of iOS developer program.

iOS 5.1 beta 2 (build 9B5127c) is available for iPhone 4SiPhone 4iPhone 3GSiPad 2iPad 1, 3rd geniPod touch and 4th gen iPod touch.

Apple hasn't provided a lot of details about the new features and changes it plans to introduce in the upcoming iOS software update in the release notes, other than a note about a minor change, which will address an annoying issue that users had complained about in iOS 5 and iCloud.

Photos taken using iOS 5.1 can be deleted from Photo Stream on your device and will be removed automatically from Photo Stream on your other iOS 5.1 devices. Older photos can be manually deleted from your iOS 5.1 devices.

According to rumors, Apple is expected to add more functionality to Siri, which is currently in beta, but there is no information regarding it so far. It also remains to be seen if the latest iOS 5.1 beta version fixes the battery life issues as the previous beta version didn't seem to fix it.

Me too! I want ios5, but only jailbroken. I’m tempted to go ahead with 5.0.1 on my iPad and 4, in case it goes away before the JB is available.

hope it fixes the network issues

I want the new update to allow you to enable and disable audio streaming via Bluetooth, I hate manually disabling it when I get in my car everytime!!! Not every car gives that option, so Apple should include it in an update!!! My 0.2

I realy want to see a 3G toggle in Network settings, from what ive heard siri works just fine with EDGE and since 3G is a big battery drainer they should put it back. But nevertheless ive not founded any problems with my 4s curently my standby is 15-16Hrs usage 6-8Hrs, Siri off, BT off, Wi-Fi on.

There seems to be a lack of jobs in apple inc. ;)

I hear You! 3G toggle needs to come back. I’m getting just over three days of standby including active usage that is reported at roughly over 4hrs (wifi off, bt off, siri on amongst other features – mostly used for calls, sms and gaming), but where I typically have my phone the 3G signal is weak or very weak, so switching it off would be a lifechanger for me.

For those who do not know if you need to upgrade to 5.0.1 or use TinyUmbrella simple answer is to save shsh of 5.0.1 and will not cause you have not saved shsh care (do not forget to uncheck the advanced – request SHSH from Cydia) no matter what firmware you have installed on idevice (eg 4.3.3 and I have saved for 5.0.1 and 5.1.b1 shsh.
I’m sorry for my bad English.
    Only well.

Just wondering if the release has fixed the iPhone 4s audio and speaker issues

  9. Cameron says:

A 4G icon on the AT&T model would be nice as well a 4G and 3G toggle switches.
