We've some good news for Windows users. iPhone Dev team has just released a new version of their command line tool 0.4.3 that adds support for Windows. The CLI tool is for the technically inclined and should help in troubleshooting issues.
iPhone Dev team had provided the following details of their command line tool:
iPhone Dev have also incorporated the exact same flow into an alternative command-line interface (CLI). This will allow us to help users through individual steps of the jailbreak manually, to both help the user and help improve the overall flow. Although the CLI will also allow the user to perform the entire jailbreak from beginning to end, we anticipate it will be more useful in debugging the occasional errors. The CLI currently has over 20 individual options (in addition to the single “jailbreak” option) that should be useful during debug after the GUI release.
iPhone Dev team has provided the following details about the latest version of their command line tool:
The OS X version of the CLI mentioned in the post can be downloaded here. It’s primarily to help us debug specific issues, but tinkerers might like to play around with some of its advanced options! More info is here.

You can download CLI using this link and check out this readme.txt file, which includes more details about how to use it.

You need to run the CLI jailbreak through your cmd.exe program. Don’t just double-click on the cinject.exe program

For those who dont know, cd is change directory, if you encounter errors then try switching usb ports, if you are asked for password just press enter..

VPN toggle will be in settings (main settings) after you use cinject.exe -w

1. turn on your computer
2. if your screen is still dark after 2 minutes you need to press the power button on the tower as well as the monitor.
3. if you need to ask what CD refers to proceed to step 4
4. turn off your computer
got my ip4s jailbroken but on my ipad 2 everytime it stops at server connection error and then nothing wat shall i do

What is my “Compad disk”? My CDROM drive? What does that have to do with the jailbreak?
Also, when I try to start the VPN server, it won’t start. “A configuration error occured.”
I have exactly the same error on Ipad 2.
Whatever I do, I can’t overcome this.
P.S. I’m not new to DOS, and did all I could think of to fight this error.
If your windows is 64 bit, it cant be helped cus its not compatible we’re just going to have to wait for the gui version son

just go in to settings on your iphone then go to vpn and then toggle the on switch and it will give error,but dont worry just wait a few seconds and your iphone will reboot , and then you will see cydia installed voila your iphone 4S is jailbroken

These steps worked good, but i think you have a typo here…,
in Step 4 conjecture.exe should really be “cinject.exe”.
also there is a part ( dont remember if it was step 3 or 4)… but you have to go to your phone and install a profile…, for the VPN it asks for a password, just leave this blank and press next.
For me after doing step 5…, the command dos window seemed to be hanging on “Installing FileMover”(or something like that) but cydia was installed so i just closed the window and restored through iTunes. And everything seems to be working fine.
Though the VPN things is kinda of worrying me a bit. What was that all about? Did any of my info get sent to this pod2g guy?

Guys, for those who encountered the 1266 error:
1. Do a backup in itunes
2. Go to phone settings-general-reset-erase all content and settings
3. After reboot/config done, exe the cinject commands.
4. After Jb, restore your contents from itunes again.
This will solve the 1266 error. Have fun!

When that happenened to me it was because cinject was in a folder inside a folder, from unzipping. Check that out.

Right click device, “Restore from backup” in iTunes.

This is probably your passcode to unlock you ipad then come the install and profile password that you want to be blank and click next on.

You’ve done something wrong then, full reset, go through the first steps on the phone and set it as a new phone. Once you see all the icons again run the jailbreak stuff before restoring your phone.

Hold-home-button restore or restore in iTunes leaves your Documents intact, for cinject to fall over on again.
