iPhone Dev Team Release CLI Corona A5 iPhone 4S and iPad 2 Jailbreak For Windows [Updated]

Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 Redsn0w

greenpois0n Absinthe by the Chronic Dev team to jailbreak iPhone 4S and iPad 2 and the CLI tool by iPhone Dev team was only available for the Mac.

We've some good news for Windows users. iPhone Dev team has just released a new version of their command line tool 0.4.3 that adds support for Windows. The CLI tool is for the technically inclined and should help in troubleshooting issues.

iPhone Dev team had provided the following details of their command line tool:

iPhone Dev have also incorporated the exact same flow into an alternative command-line interface (CLI). This will allow us to help users through individual steps of the jailbreak manually, to both help the user and help improve the overall flow.  Although the CLI will also allow the user to perform the entire jailbreak from beginning to end, we anticipate it will be more useful in debugging the occasional errors.  The CLI currently has over 20 individual options (in addition to the single “jailbreak” option) that should be useful during debug after the GUI release.

iPhone Dev team has provided the following details about the latest version of their command line tool:

The OS X version of the CLI mentioned in the post can be downloaded here.  It’s primarily to help us debug specific issues, but tinkerers might like to play around with some of its advanced options!  More info is here.

  • Version 0.4.3 adds support for Windows users.  It also makes the “-j” jailbreak option much more functional :)

You can download CLI using this link and check out this readme.txt file, which includes more details about how to use it.

Please remember to take a backup of your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 before proceeding.

I think it worked. I’m going to include instructions below. Please note, I’m using Win XP SP-3, iTunes 10.5.3 and iPad 2 running 5.0.1. Here’s how I did it.

Version 0.4.3 adds support for Windows users. It also makes the “-j” jailbreak option much more functional
    Usage:
    1. open CMD.exe
    2. cd to the cinject.exe
    3. execute the command: cinject.exe -i payloads/jailbreak.mobileconfig
    4. execute the command: cinject.exe -j payloads
    5. execute the command: cinject.exe -w
    6. toggle the VPN switch in settings
    7. Wait for reboot

If you encountered the 1266 error:
    1. Do a backup in itunes
    2. Go to phone settings-general-reset-erase all content and settings
    3. After reboot/config done, exe the cinject commands.
    4. After Jb, restore your contents from itunes again.
This will solve the 1266 error. Have fun!

  30. hjacked says:

I have just done jailbreaking my IPAD 2 iOS 5.0.1, bunch of thanks for the dream team!!! :)
    1. Restore your device with iTunes (i use the latest 10.5.3.3)
    2. Download and extract “cinject_0.4.3″ (Absinthe CLI for windows)
    3. Hold shift and right click the folder of cinject_0.4.3 and select “open command window here”.
    4. Execute the command: cinject.exe -i payloads/jailbreak.mobileconfig
    5. Execute the command: cinject.exe -j payloads.
    6. Execute the command: cinject.exe -w (I didn’t use this to watch the system log, cause I see no error executing cinject.exe -j payloads)
    7. Toggle the VPN switch in settings, wait for reboot and your free!!!
    DREAM TEAM ROCKS!

    1. Simply backup and reset phone.

    just follw the usage..

  42. buuju says:

don’t forget tu turn on VPN…

    • Reza says:

Hi Buuju, should I do this as the script is running? I don’t see much scrolling of the syst log right now but it looks like its thinking. Don’t want to mess this up, do I turn on the VPN now?

  43. Reza says:

Quick question: after I type the -W command, the script runs and i can see the log scrolling for a few seconds then it stops but it is not back to the prompt; when do I need to switch the VPN on? It seems like its still working. Thanks

    • ToyMan says:

I keep getting a config error when I switch the VPN switch on any ideas?
      THX

      • Reza says:

hmm…no idea, but I can tell you what worked for me. I backed up my iPhone with iTunes. Then started the process with -J command which prompted me to run an -I command first. I did then I ran the -J command again. once that finished i typed the -W command which took a while and seem to be stuck at which point I enabled the VPN. also when you install VPN don’t put any password. Hope that helps.

  44. buuju says:

    yup…
    turn VPN on

  45. buuju says:

turn on VPN one it stop..
    after that, it will continew..

  46. Mind Rich says:

Okay ladies and mostly gentlemen, here is how to do this and it is not very difficult. I have tried below to be as easy as possible, so that everybody can do it. Carefully follow the instructions and you will be able to do it even if you are a basic user of iPhone.

:P – Importantly, when you type commands, you must ignore the apostrophe. For example, if the instruction says – type “cinject.exe -j”, then you have to type cinject.exe (without the apostrophe – ‘ ” ‘). I know this is crazy but for some, it would make sense!

    1) First, download the file “cinject_0.4.3.zip”, extract the contents and copy the top folder “cinject_0.4.3″ to your C:\
(I am assuming that there is another folder inside this folder named “cinject_0.4.3″.)
    2) Now, on your PC, click start menu and in the text box type “Run” and press on PC
    3) Now the “Run” dialog box will appear. Here, type “cmd” and press on PC
    4) Now type “CD C:\cinject_0.4.3\cinject_0.4.3″
    5) Now type “cinject.exe -i payloads/jailbreak.mobileconfig” and press key on PC
    a) Now, on your iPhone, press “Install”
    b) Now, you will see a password prompt. Just press on “Next” on top-right on your iPhone
(This will install the “jailbreak” VPN profile on your iPhone)
6). Now, come back to your PC and on the DOS window, type “cinject.exe -j payloads” and press key on PC
7). After it finishes, type “cinject.exe -w” and press key on PC
8). Now, on your iPhone screen, you have to turn “VPN” ON. If you don’t know how to do it, refer to the instruction below. If you can turn “VPN” ON you your on, you are done!
    a) If you see “General” on top-left, press it. Now click on “Settings” on top-left. Now scroll up and just below “Wi-Fi” option, you would see “VPN”. Now press on the greyed out “OFF” to turn it “ON” and the phone will reboot.
    b) If you did not see “General” on top-left of your iPhone, then just keep pressing the keys, which take you back… You have to go to “Settings”, then select “General” and then press on “VPN” option below “Wi-Fi” option.
    9) Wait for reboot
    10) After the phone reboots, go to the second-right screen of iPhone and press “Cydia” and continue. After Cycia installs, it would reboot your iPhone and you are done!

    All the best guys!

  47. Danny says:

To those who deride the newbies, you’re probably a newbie yourself. Please understand that not all computer configurations are the same. If you don’t want to help, just keep quiet. Remember, you were once a newbie to too.
Btw, I am an Android user, and I’ve never seen this kind of derisive comments to newbies.
    Chill out.

    • Mind Rich says:

Whatever happened to light sense of humor! :) Anyway lady, let me try to explain – Except for 64-bit versions of Windows, which this release of “cinject” is not compatible with, regardless of the computer configuration, the instructions WILL work for majority of windows PCs and where there are exceptions, they ARE EXCEPTIONS.

DOS environment for all Windows PCs are the same.

Anyway, my objective was to keep it as simple as possible. If you scroll up and read, lot of users were not able to do even basic stuff and hence the detailing. The “deride” part was just to add some fun. You chill too :)

    • They are idiots - why else? says:

Danny I’m with you. Although not with you on Android :-) . But yes, if you don’t want to help just STFU and stop insulting people. Mostly those that ‘behave’ like this are either 13 and under or are probably abused by other kids/adults at school/work.

  48. yk steve says:

any one can upload to rapidshare or megaupload?

    thanks in advance.

  49. AcePK says:

can the profile that was loaded be deleted after the jb is done?

  50. ValuedCustomer666 says:

Running “cinject.exe -j payloads” results in this error for me (under both XPP & W7x64)

    Creating backup…
    12469 files backed up
    Adding custom com.apple.ipsec.plist to backup
    Assertion failed: (fp=fopen(path, “rb”))!=NULL, file /home/musclenerd/pers/cinject/cinject/mbdb.c, line 167
