As we get closer to the imminent release of the untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2, we're getting more information about it from the jailbreak "Dream Team".
Yesterday, pod2g published a video of a successfully jailbroken iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0.1 and indicated that we've to wait for few more days for the untethered jailbreak to be publicly available.
MuscleNerd has just revealed that in addition to support for iOS 5.0.1 the untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S will support iOS 5 as well. He hasn't confirmed if it will support iOS 5 for iPad 2 users, but he hopes it will.
5.0 will be supported for at least the 4S, hopefully iPad2 (it matters more on 4S, due to potential BB-related issues)
Last week, pod2g had advised users to upgrade to iOS 5.0.1 and take a backup of SHSH blobs using TinyUmbrella for Mac/Windows, but there was some confusion if unlockers should upgrade or not. So few days back MuscleNerd clarified that users who were interested in unlocking their iPhone 4S using a software method should avoid upgrading to iOS 5.0.1 and stay on iOS 5. However, he didn't mention if the untehtered jailbreak will also support iOS 5. With today's tweet from MuscleNerd, there is a lot more clarity.
We're not sure if the jailbreak "Dream Team" have made any breakthroughs in jailbreaking the new basebands.

Please note that the untethered jailbreak will support iOS 5.0.1. Today's post was meant for iPhone 4S users who want to unlock their phones but have been advised by the jailbreak Dream team to stay put at iOS 5. It looks like the confusion was caused by the title of the post, we have changed it to avoid the confusion. Sorry about that.

People with new apple devices are getting impatient because they expect the jailbreak to be available from the very start? You should realise that having a jailbreak is a luxury and not a given or a divine right. Perhaps in future there are devices that can never be jailbroken. If you don’t like your device in its native format then don’t waste your time queuing outside apple store on day 1 to buy it. Either buy something else like android or wait till a jb is available. Until then quit complaining and enjoy using your restricted device.

If you are like me you cant wait for the Jb to be here, i have been watching youtube seeing all the things you can do with cydia,like Erick said im also going to be like a kid in a candy store, i just want to see that Cydia app on my ipone, also i can use any carrer i want to, and Wifi any where i go i have been told that you will be able to trick your iphone into thanking it is in Wifi zone even if ifs not.
Musclenerd, Dev Team, when the 4s JB is released, Please release a method for us 4s users that rely on an unlock to downgrade our BB from 1.0.13 to 1.0.11 being that we were advised to update to the most recent firmware. (5.0.1). I wanted to unlock my device and I upgraded to 5.0.1 about 4 days ago. You guys are now telling us to stay at 5.0 in hopes of receiving an unlock, and the JB will support 5.0. Had i known this I would never have updated. IMO we were falsly mislead. I was under the impression that I would miss out on a JB had I now updated. I really need to unlock my device.

The video was nothing more than a tease to sell ad space on the jailbreak blogs. if it’s ready, then why not release it? Because it isn’t anywhere near ready, and they’re more concerned with ad clicks than actually doing the work.

Think the best thing to do is stay at 5.0 then download 5.0 and 5.0.1 firmwares to have them ready cause the servers are going to be jammed.That way your ready ready for anything.Sold my 4s to buy android sgs2 and bought a ipad2 so hopefully can jailbreak it.
