The Verge has obtained screenshots of a Best Buy online survey, which asks customers for feedback about a potential Apple HDTV.
According to the survey, Apple's much rumored Television would be a 42" 1080p LED flat panel priced at $1,499, which would run iOS and applications built for it. In addition to this, it would also support iCloud, and stream media from internet services like iTunes, YouTube, Netflix and Flickr. And as you'd expect, the television would be tightly integrated with existing Apple hardware like iPhones and iPads.

The survey also suggests that Best Buy's rendition of an Apple Television would include an iSight microphone and camera for Skype. The "iSight" branding of cameras was phased out nearly a year ago, when Apple started calling cameras bundled with Macs as FaceTime cameras. Moreover Apple would never ship hardware with inbuilt support for Skype, not because it's owned by Microsoft, but because it competes with Apple's own video chatting solution, FaceTime. Another notable reason as to why this rendition isn't accurate is that, the survey makes no mention of Siri, which is rumored to be an integral part of the Apple Television interface.
So it's very unlikely that Best Buy has inside info on the Apple Television. Instead, it appears that the retailer is gauging the demand for a $1,499 Apple Television. For comparison, a 40" Samsung smart TV retails at the same price.

Update:
Best Buy has clarified to folks at Wired that the survey was a routine offer effectiveness survey:
“The customer survey was a routine offer effectiveness survey conducted by one of Best Buy’s research partners. Any brand reference was hypothetical. The survey is no longer available,”

Yeah, I believe that.
Not!
Am I the only one who thinks a 42″ tv is WAY to small? Anything under 52″ is a waste of money in my book.
Damn $1500 for a 42 inch, I want to know who much a 60 inch would cost.
Anything under 60 inch is too small.
What “led” screen is it?
If its just led backlit like all the other “led” sets out there then that sucks….
$1499 for a 42 inch? You gotta be kidding!!
this has to be fake
i can’t even imagine a sh*tstorm that would come over Best Buy if they in fact leaked a product that Apple hasn’t even mentioned yet
they should be surveying for a 55″ minimum. i own a 60″ sammy and no way i’d settle for anything less
Wow! That’s a nice price..!
Problem with all these smart tv and Apple TV’s r that while most internet providers say unlimited, all are capped. How long before you start getting “throttled” with ur TV’s!!!
Get a iMac with TV.
