iCade 8-Bitty: NES Inspired Game Controller For iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch

ThinkGeek - the folks who brought us the popular iCade game controllers for the iPad, have just launched a new NES-inspired game controller with 8 buttons for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch called iCade 8-Bitty.

iCade 8-Bitty as the name suggests is a handheld video game controller in the classic style 8-bit style, which brings retro-gaming experience to iOS.

It connects to the iOS devices via Bluetooth. It's it's compatible with a growing list of hundreds of retro game apps, including the Atari Classics collection, Pac Man, Super Mega Worm, and more.

iCade 8-Bitty costs $25. The only problem is that they're so popular that the iOS game controller has been completely sold out in just a few hours after it was launched earlier today.

You can check out the hands-on video of the NES controller in action below (courtesy Engadget):

As cool as this is I would much rather have the icade mobile that actually attaches to the iPhone. I can use my wii remote for the same effect as this. Cool idea though.

  2. Lee Yo says:

Exactly, If I’m gonna spend $25 I’d rather by an Official Nintendo Wii controller rather then some one off name like iCade.

    Maybe if this were $9.99

  3. dnaL0R says:

is this compatible with those snes emulators?

  4. fas says:

Does not compliment the looks of the iDevices.

    I ‘d give it a try .

the question is, is it compatible with sfiv volt? that alone would make it a selling point for me.
