Apple Prepares Yerba Buena Center For Next Week’s iPad 3 Event

With less than 5 days to go, Apple has started putting up banners at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco for the iPad 3 media event on Wednesday, March 7th.

The graphics of the banner for such events are typically tied to the graphics found on the invitation sent for the event, but Apple has been using its logo for iPad launch events. As you can see below, this time round too, Apple has used a similar approach.

The banner has a large white Apple logo in the middle with splashes of vibrant colors. It looks pretty cool.

Apple is expected to unveil the highly anticipated third generation iPad, possibly an 8GB iPad 2 as the new entry-level iPad and Apple TV 3. Apple is also expected to preview the new features in iOS 5.1 and announce the release date for their new iOS software update.

Yerba Buena was the original name for San Francisco prior to 1847 when the name changed. It was named for a mint that grew all over the dunes there. The Spaniards adopted the name of the mint for the settlement. Translated Yerba = herb or mostly any small green plant. Buena = good or nice.
