SwipeBack: Jailbreak Tweak Allows You to Navigate Back With a Swipe

Ryan Petrich – iOS hacker who has developed some amazing jailbreak tweaks such as Activator is back with a new jailbreak tweak called SwipeBack.

After installing SwipeBack, all you need to do is swipe on the screen from the left to right (from the left edge) to navigate back within the app. It’s a lot more intuitive than tapping on the Back button.

It works very well in apps such as the App Store, Settings (on the iPhone and iPod touch) etc. To ensure that SwipeBack works well with Zephyr – which is another must-have jailbreak tweak by Grant Paul (aka chpwn), you will have to use the two-finger gesture to switch between apps.

SwipeBack is available for free in Cydia and can be found on Ryan’s beta repository. Add the following to your Cydia sources: http://rpetri.ch/repo/ (Launch Cydia -> Tap on Sources -> Tap on Edit and then Add) to install the jailbreak tweak.

Please note it does not install any icon on your Home Screen nor does it offer any options in Settings to enable or disable it. Install it and start navigating back with a swipe.

jim, it is a little touchy, but works just fine once you get used to it.

Looks like it might be obnoxious, as he was swiping multiple times to try and get it to go back a page

Will this allow you to go back to your email app after clinking on a link that took you to a web page?
