Organizers of Hack in the Box Security Conference have just announced 1-day passes for tomorrow, May 25th for HITBSecConf 2012, which is being held at the Okura Hotel in Amsterdam.

It looks like pod2g and the Chronic Dev team will be releasing Absinthe 2.0 untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1.1 at the event.

As expected, pod2g and Chronic Dev team have released Absinthe 2.0 – iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak. Check out this post for all the details.

Organizers of HITBSecConf 2012 tweeted:

SPECIAL @chronicdevteam 1-day passes for #HITB2012AMS @ EUR699! Come see @pod2g @p0sixninja @planetbeing @nikias JAILBREAK LIVE

Followers of @chronicdevteam – Come to #Okura tomorrow and say “I LOVE CHRONIC” at the reg counter to get the EUR699 discount seats!

The HITBSecConf series, which takes place in Malaysia, Dubai, Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur is one of the important events that is attended by security professionals from around the world.

As reported earlier, members of the jailbreak dream team such as pod2g, MuscleNerd, planetbeing, p0sixninja, nikias were supposed to be presenting at the event.

Earlier in the week, pod2g had said that the release of the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV is almost ready and the release is just ‘a matter of days’ away. pod2g has also tested and confirmed that his iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak works with most iOS devices except for Apple TV 3.

Based on HITBSecConf’s latest tweet, it does suggest that they will give a live demonstration of Absinthe 2.0 jailbreak during their presentation, followed by the release. This doesn’t come as a surprise as Chronic Dev team had also hinted of some jailbreak goodness during the event.
According to the agenda on HITBSecConf website, Jailbreak dream team’s session is scheduled to start at 11:30am CET (5:30am EST) in which they will cover the Corona Jailbreak, followed by the session on Absinthe jailbreak at 1:30 am CET, which is 7:30 am EST. The agenda hasn’t been updated so it still says jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 rather than iOS 5.1.1.
If you’re in Amsterdam tomorrow and interested in seeing them in action, then you can go to Okura Hotel and buy the 1-day passes which are available for 699 EUR.
We’re not sure how many will end up making it to the event, but we’re quite sure it will be one of the most eagerly awaited events for the jailbreak community.
Update 1 (May 25th, 01:06 pm CEST):
pod2g and the Chronic Dev team have completed their first session, the next session should start shortly (1:30 CEST). We expect the jailbreak to be release towards the end of the session (2:30 CEST). So just over an hour to go.
While we wait, please note that it is safe for jailbreakers to upgrade their iOS device to iOS 5.1.1 and after you’ve upgraded to iOS 5.1.1, don’t forget to save SHSH blobs using TinyUmbrella. Unlockers however should not upgrade and should wait for Dev team to release Redsn0w that will allow you to preserve the baseband.
Update 2 (02:10 pm CEST):
greenpois0n.com where pod2g and Chronic Dev team had released Absinthe 1.0 seems to be down, it looks like they are getting ready for the jailbreak goodies. Thanks Samuel for the heads up!
Update 3:
As expected, pod2g and Chronic Dev team have released Absinthe 2.0 – iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak. Check out this post for all the details.
