BlueStacks “App Player” Brings Android Apps To The Mac

BlueStacks, a company specializing in Android virtualization, has released a public alpha of of the Android App Player for the Mac, that lets OS X run Android apps.

The App Player was released for Windows six months back, and since then the company has improved it and expanded it to the Mac.

The App Player come pre loaded with 17 apps and games that include Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Pulse and Paper Toss. The company says that more apps would be coming for it very soon.

If the Windows version of App Player is any indication, the App Player for Mac would eventually gain access to the thousands of apps on the Google Play Store, Amazon’s App Store and GetJar’s store.


The app is available as a free download from BlueStacks’ website for Macs running Snow¬†Leopard¬†or Lion.
